Replacing Brake Question
I am trying to have a good looking brake setup on the cheap. If I were to just replace my rear brakes with m performance brakes or f80 brakes, would I have to recode my brakes. And how would I go about doing so since I would be using an unconventional mix of brakes (stock brakes in the front and larger two piston brakes in the back). So I am guessing I couldn’t just code the same way as all m performance or all f80 brakes.

The front brakes do most of the braking. Any particular reason why the priority is to replace rear brakes with M Performance brakes?

Would this cause a brake pressure bias issue since, I assume, the now larger rotor/pad rear combo would be generating more braking force than the system expects?

I think first you need to tell us which brakes you have currently.
The silver fixed front, sliding rear stock setup is 340mm/330mm. If you replace the rear 330mm sliding calipers with 345mm fixed ones from the blue m sport package then that's the same setup that comes stock as msport on the 4cyl cars and F20 (340mm front, 345mm rear). So no need to worry about bias issues. If you have the blue brakes on a 335i then there's no reason to do mperf... its literally the same sizes (370mm, 345mm) with drilled rotors and different color calipers.

Don't thread bomb.
Aside from being bad etiquette you're not going to have people see your question when it's not related to the thread topic. Start your own topic, in the X7 forum, where you'll be told to take it to the dealer because you're under warranty. Using your email address as your username is a bad idea. Spambots constantly cruise the web looking for email addresses to inundate with spam emails. |

Read this log
https://www.bimmerworld.com/About-Us...-Sport-Brakes/ As I see in some of your posts you have a 335i then you have standard 340 brakes up front. To add the 345 rear they are the same on all models abit some part number changes m235 - m3/m4. Performance gains won't be huge but it's will look better and pads can be swapped out much faster. After everything said and done you would spend 500+ on rear calipers, then 300+ on rear rotors then powder coat you are looking about 1k would be my guess. Good luck!
