I have been driving manuals for 52 years, yes I’m an old guy.
I have ALWAYS left the car in gear and applied the emergency brake as I was taught. My Dad stressed that in an auto tranny PARK was just a pin that held the car, in a manual the engine compression held it when in gear, and in both cases to always engage the emergency brake. No idea why anyone would leave it in neutral in either tranny. My 340’s e-brake has worked well since new, it’s always used when parked. No issues. |
