Used Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe manual transmission or I would consider a new Z4 340M, only pause there is just no stick available. I have the automatic now yet miss the 3-pedal driving. All the kids are grown, rarely use back seat and always have the Wife's Jaguar SUV available. Son-in-law has let me drive his 340i MPPSK six-speed, that is just plain nice! The F80 is a wow driver yet the insurance is a deal breaker.

If any BMW out of consideration, then:
- Within similar price range, Audi A5/S5 Sportback - In increased price range Audi RS5 Sportback If just not F30, then probably G20 M340d/M340i, which I hope in some 2-3 years down the line would be my next car. However, given the current situation and overall satisfaction with F30, I might even wait future 3-series and skip G20. Last edited by Sigtran; 05-30-2021 at 01:33 AM.. |

First time BMW owner this weekend actually. My wife got a 2018 330e and my car is a 2020 Raptor so that's what I do drive but wow am I amazed at how good a BMW feels. Always knew I'd love them and my wife who cares nothing for cars took some convincing to get one, but holy shit does she like it too.
I took it to get a coffee this morning and came back telling her I was envious she gets to daily drive it and that's me even adoring my Raptor, lol. |

I would say that G20 is a nostalgic throwback to E39 days of supple ride + tout handling with modern techs, while F30 is BMW's new spin of peppiness with a softened ride that appeals to a much wider mass than E90/E46. The one thing pre LCI F30 needs improvement is bounciness on uneven terrains. The G20 has lift-related dampers target this F30 flaw and the ride is quite buttoned down. |

I'm going to change my answer a bit.
I made the mistake of driving an ND2 Miata on Friday. Wow, I liked that car. The light weight, great balance, short shifting manual gearbox, and amazing steering really won me over. I didn't even miss the fact is has nearly half the HP and torque of my F32. I'm really starting to think I'd be happier in an ND2 Miata RF or one of the new FRS/BRZ's if they have truly solved the torque dip problem. Now to see if I can live with loosing a semi-usable back seat and the trunk space.

Just do it! MN winters are a joke as of late and getting "worse" from someone who can't get enough snow. Sad.

I really want to like the Tacoma, but it has too many faults these days.
Naturally aspirated, ancient V6 is a gas hog and totally inadequate at elevation (my house sits at 6200'). I borrowed a friend's TRD Offroad to return about 600lbs of tile to a shop, and it literally would not get out of its own way. I had to floor the thing to get off the line. The 6AT is horribly programmed and constantly hunting gears, to the point where diff slippage/whine is commonplace. Since they've moved the production to Mexico, a lot of Taco guys have started reporting quality issues with sensors, switches, etc. |

I'm seriously considering trading my 435i in for a 2018 M550. Am I crazy?
