Grocery bag hooks in F30 330d - Cheap & Easy fit mod
Finally managed to fit two grocery bag hooks, using parts from VW bins – following this excellent guide, here: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=919563
Here's the finished project: I ordered the VW hooks from Amazon US: http://www.amazon.com/Cargo-Trunk-Pa...audi+bag+hooks Cost of hooks = £6 ($8) Self-tapping screws = 60p I used 6mm self-tapping screws with some washers to keep it all in place. An added bonus from this mod is that engine output has (probably) increased by at 20 BHP, due to shopping bags not being thrown around in the boot. Health & Safety & Wealth Warning: Attempt this only at your own risk. If you drill holes in the bodywork, stab yourself with a runway drill or get eye damage through fine metal filings floating about in the confined space of the boot or damage some cunningly hidden piece of kit, don't blame me Ensure you use short screws that won't penetrate the bodywork.

You putting VAG parts in your beemer?
Although I can see nothing will fall out of the bags, surely they are banging about in the boot as you brake, accelerate etc...? Are the bags secured anywhere?

Be careful putting screws into the underside of the parcel shelf.
There are a couple of electronic boxes under the cabin side of the trim, along with associated wiring and it could be very costly if you damaged it. |

Before, whenever I put a carrier bag in the boot of my car, the contents would be strewn about by the time I got to my destination. My mod was to use one of those collapsible 32L plastic crates and put the bags in that. No screwing required (ooeerrr)
OP - seriously though, thanks for sharing. I've had these hooks in other cars but didn't order the convenience pack or whatever it is BMW rush you for the practical touches in our cars.

I must drive like Miss Daisy as I've never found the shopping thrown across the boot. Always found adjusting my driving to the requirements at the time a lot easier

You'll only have that if you ordered the extended storage pack.

Good point. I should've added that I used the iPhone taped to a stick, turned on the video and did an 'exploratory shoot' to look into the nooks and crannies to do as you said and look for any obstructions etc. If there's a way of loading videos, I can put it up here..

Its ok for like a laptop rucksack or something but anything like a tin in a bag flies out, its quite an open net at the top/bottom/sides I find. Would be excellent for a cat I think or small pet.

Don't they struggle as you're stuffing them under the net?
