Possible to swap RWD rear diff carrier into xDrive

Is it possible to swap the rear diff housing and axles fro s drive into x drive? I would like an LSD in my xDrive. Can get a Quaife but it is expensive. Might be cheaper to buy used diff housing and axles from eBay and swap in and then buy the M LSD.

The 3.15 XDrive and RWD unit are compatible - no need to do all that.

But the LSD 3.15 units are sold out and discontinued.

You waited too long.

If you're buying the m lsd you don't need the rear diff housing. m lsd is a ready to install pumpkin. If you're LCI, you also need the pre-lci driveshaft in order to use the 3.15 LSD

LCI did not use 3.15 final, which is why those were not put on sale.

Has anyone added LSD to a 340xi? If so I'd love to hear the details and results.

The rear diffs don't look to be compatible. The RWD pumpkpin sticks out about an inch longer than the xDrive model

I’m genuinely curious here: would an LSD affect in any way how Xdrive distributes power to individual wheels when it detects slippage?

It should be way better. Issue with "x drive" is you really only get 2WD. With the locking LSD, then you get 3WD under slipping conditions.
