Coding Whoops...

So i was playing around with the ASD ecu and i think i may have accidentally coded the green KOMBI cadf item (i had not read the FDL for this item) rather than the ASD one i had been editing.
While this was coding the car "rebooted" and came up with a message saying their was an issue with the instrument cluster and i should go see my local BMW service dept. My trip computer also reset and i have a exclimation at the top right of the display between the dials.
So the question is, what did i do? write a load of default values to the KOMBI?
If so how would writing the FA (i have a backup of my last change) back install the last settings?

Just reset the Kombi ECU.

I would suggest the exclamation mark is an error code. Just clear this using Tool32.

It sounds like you just VO coded the KOMBI. This just initializes it to the factory default (which sounds like it was already at).

Whenever you VO or FDL code an ECU, the ECU is restarted. On the KOMBI, that resets the trip odometer, the clock, and the outside temperature reading.

The warning error usually goes away after you stop the restart the car.

The exclamation mark is usually just an indication telling you to reset the time.

Yep, set the time back to automatic and the warning icon has gone. Thanks!
