need new brakes, I have the 2013 f30 335ix n55 sportline
I have the grey Brembo calipers. I just need pads and rotors. I would like slotted rotors because I have increased hp. but when I asked for a quote on a website for just parts the oem replacement was like 18 hundred. the slotted rotors were basically 38 hundred. I'm looking for info on how to keep my brembo grey calipers but have slotted rotors. I have done research but really feel lost on this subject to be honest. please offer guidance on what I need and where to purchase. I have heard people have been quoted 5k. I was shocked at 38 hundred. please offer insight. thanks guys.

I just did this brake job 7 days ago. Was super simple with the right tools and a little bit of time. Job took me 5 hours of work time for my first time doing the job. Most of that time was cleaning the brake parts thoroughly and being stuck on one bolt. I have the same brake set up as you. I wrote up a little review of what pad/ rotor combo I went with. There are many options for you in the market. I was quoted 1700 for parts and labor from the dealer near me. Cost me just under 600 to do the job including tools purchased in my driveway. Obviously the price will be impacted by what parts you decide. A good place to check is Ecstuning.com. I got my rotors off there with zero issues. Fcpeuro.com is also a good place that offers a lifetime warranty on the brakes they offer, so essentially you never need to pay for brakes after your initial purchase. Just a few notes to take into consideration. Drilled and slotted offer little to no performance gains on the street and may actually decrease street performance. Drilled and slotted rotors cannot be "refreshed" and must be replaced with each set of pads. Drilled and slotted are known to wear pads down faster. The slotted rotors have been said to make more noise than blank discs. Slotted rotors will clean the face of the pad to ensure glazing does not occur as well as offering better braking in wet weather. Pros and cons to everything but just some stuff to keep in mind.
