KTAG V7.020 Reprogramming ECU

hello i would like some help please i hope i am in the right category.

I would like to reprogram my EDC17C50 ECU on my BMW 2016 with a Chinese clone KTAG.
I have the version of KSuite 2.25.

but in the list of supported vehicles I can find the exact ECU with the exact engine in the category: SERIE 2
but I have SERIE 1.
my question is: does the model matter? or only the calculator is important?

because to my knowledge we reprogram the ECU. is not the vehicle.

I think the list of vehicles just makes it easier to find the computer? but has no effect on the calculator. can you confirm?
