Yes, bizarre they gave him a contract extension after 18 months when he seldom stays more than three years at a club!

Will be interesting to see what they do now though; that's three failed managerial appointments since Fergie retired so was it all the fault of those individuals or is there something wrong at the club that also needs fixing?

Annoyed, would have preferred they kept him and continued their run of ‘good’ form.

Those united players need to take a good look at themselves as well. They downed tools months ago which is a disgrace to the paying fans.

As a Chelsea supporter I'm of course very grateful for what Jose achieved with us. However I was certainly glad to see the back of him the second time around as the football was dire.

Yes, seems strange a club the size of Man United are turning to a bloke who's got no track-record of managing successfully in the Premier League and who is currently in charge of a team in Norway few have heard of. I suppose it reflects the mess they're in but who knows, perhaps if come next May they've finished in the top four in the Premier League and won the Champions League it will look like an inspired appointment!

Nothing seems strange for utd this last 5 or so years.... Jose's time at utd has gone exactly as expected... He was never a good fit.... Great fun to watch their demise tho.

I don't really understand how they've lost their way quite so badly although from a team point of view I think Fergie knew what he was doing and bailed-out at the right time. I know they won the Premier League in his last season in charge but a lot of the squad was past its best by then and even if he'd stayed he'd have had a tough job keeping them at the top IMO.

That said I'm another who sheds no tears over their current problems - they must still have been one of the biggest net spenders in recent years so they can hardly complain about a lack of resources! I'm also old enough to remember the 1970's and 1980's and, despite what some Man Utd fans seem to believe, they haven't always been England's premier club and have no divine right to win league titles....

I'd be worried about Poch going if Spurs don't get champs league again next season (should happen but not a given)
Especially if it gets to summer and no formal appointment has been made, how many young managers are their with the right credentials?

I know its still a big job, buts not the lure it was and as manager you are bang in the firing line.

But Jose's football is crap, it's out of date, so is his attitude to media and players, glad he's out of premier league
