I've paid a £1000 deposit and been on a waiting list for a Sub No date since September 18 and been told I will have to wait 12-18 months but I am at least guaranteed a watch at MRSP.

I was told at the time of order that the watch would be at MSRP but any price increases during the waiting period would be added. |

Anyone else had issues with Breitling and repairs? Friend wants a repair on hers but they won’t touch the repair without doing a full service - so want £800 in total! £500 for service alone...
Think she will be telling them to stick it and revert to Rolex, Omega, Cartier options she has already - and Brietling will be off my list too. Last edited by isleaiw1; 12-20-2018 at 06:24 AM.. |

Thanks - sounds somewhat like the position was on car servicing / warranty before the EU intervened...

What's actually wrong with the watch? If the movement needs a service any good watchmaker should be able to do it, Breitling typically use slightly modified generic Swiss ETA movements which parts are readily available for, if it's some other part of the watch it may be supply by Breitling only.

They called me while they had it and asked if I would authorise £370 to repair scratches on the glass. I said I had never noticed a scratch, to which they said it's only visible under microscope. I politely said it can stay scratched then! |

I was going to complete a purchase on a Rolex Air King 2018 model last week, but someone paid a deposit an hour before I was due to do the deal.
Will now leave it until the new year but I am quite gutted as I wanted it for Christmas . |

Crown stems often come loose or detach, that would be a very simple repair for any half decent watchmaker, I wouldn't bother with Breitling for the reasons you mentioned.

Great watch, I’ve just got one myself. The dial divides opinion and I was unsure but compared one to my Milgauss and preferred it so went ahead. Much prefer the brushed links over the Milgauss

I don't normally do watches but decided to buy a Samsung Gear Watch for general techy stuff and fitness.
Seems odd having a large lump on my wrist again but I'm getting used to it |

Up town walking around the AD’s, put my name on two lists for distant future deliveries and eventually put a £1000 returnable deposit down for a possible a six to nine month delivery, being the best delivery. After a couple of months I couldn’t stand the wait and I got a list of the ‘phone numbers of the provencial AD’s and phoned around, this was on a Friday and much to my surprise this well known AD about 40 miles away said he was expecting one in this coming Monday morning at about 11.00 am. I was on his doorstep at 11.00 that Monday and he had it in! He showed it to me neatly in its clear plastic coffin. He said you can’t have that but you can have the watch! The bracelet was a link too large which he offered to remove and was a little peeved when I said I would rather remove myself. I think he thought I was selling the watch on. But the reason was a couple of years previous I bought an Explorer 39mm at another AD and when they removed a link they scratched the screw heads and bracelet As they were supposed to be professionals, I was a little gutted to say the least. There was no discount but anyway I was presented with a bottle of Moët Chandon! I would like to add that in its own showcase under a spotlight they had what must have been one of the last Rolex Cellini Prince watches in rose gold at £22,000. I had never seen one before and it looked truly magnificent! I wish you all the best but if you are prepared to travel they could be about! |
