New Goodyear rubber to rival Michelin?

As per topic, will need to wait a few months yet to see if they can rival the best that Michelin has to offer.

Also they’re releasing the Asymmetric 5, apparently they skipped the 4 because it’s bad luck in China!

Interesting, so by the looks of that marketing strategy they don't regard the Assy5 as a competitor to the MP4S. If nothing else it'll keep the competition keen and lead to further development.

Looks like Super sport = PS4S and Super R = MPSC2 (as fitted to the M4CS and GT3) the RS version doesn't have a Michelin version so is equal to a Trofeo R

This is one of my old M3s when it was fitted with MPSC...

I had the Asy 3 on my E91 they were great tyres. As soon as the Bridgestones on the F31 are done I will be making a change to goodyear again just hope the ASY 5 will come star rated and RFT or it will be the ASY2

Not a fan of Michelin tyres at all.

Loads of people rave about the pilot sports on Fiesta and Focus ST's... i found them pretty poor. Was gutted to find a set on a brand new car i bought.

Camskill has ASY3's listed in RFT, and BMW approved, in mixed 19's

Has anyone seen any updates yet with regards to release dates for the new Goodyear rubber? I've had a look around online but have had no success.

I'm also wondering where these new tyres will fit price wise, specifically with respect to the Michelin PS4 and PS4s.

I had non RFT 3's on my old TTS... and my 435d has the RFT version of them on.

Had the service last week.... 21K miles and 6mm left front and rear - so the wear is much better then i had expected in theory would get atleast 40K miles out of them... except.. both my front need replacing due to bulges in the side wall- but dont remember hitting anything hard enough to damage them - so recon i will go non rft now.

Interesting aquazi - and bad luck too with the bulges. Camskill told me that the rft 3's have thinner sidewalls than the 2's did in order to achieve a better MPG rating - 2's are E, 3's are C. All manufacturers are reverting to thicker sidewalls however because of the complaints around damage - bulges, splits etc. All according to Camskill, whose tyre guys do seem very knowledgeable
This aside, how did you find the 3's in RFT version? Quiet? Comfortable? Good feel, turn in etc?
Cheers

My Potenza RFT are utter shite, they look awful, the sound awful, they ride awful.

Although strangely on the magical X3 they looked OK, rode well and didn't make too much noise....different brand perhaps.
