Evening,

Got this fitted, it’s brilliant to use and works nicely.

I’ve noticed though I can’t set the time on idrive not can I check my service requirements? If I set the time, it does not save and I’ve also lost bmw connected drive.

Any ideas?

Something isn't connected correctly.

Probably the quadlock connector isn't fully seated.

Did you swap the fibre cable over ?

Quad lock connected fine, wouldn’t the whole system not work?

And what’s the fibre cable?

No if it's pushed in but not all the way then some of the systems can still work, whilst others don't.

The fibre cable is the green and black fibre optic cable that some cars have.

But thinking about it, i'm pretty sure that's for sound only anyway.

No, the fibre takes care of clock and service history, i know because on my first install i forgot it and had the same problems.

I've been nagging Carlinkit this week over email to see if anything new was available and to my surprise they shared 9.2.5.yl.b with me.

It installed with no issues but i have not had a chance to do extensive testing as of yet.

Thanks for the link, just checked the update.
The only change I could find was that they enabled a touch screen flag (true/false) to 3 different Android Auto configs, so it seems they just turned on touch screen support for certain car types.

//Edit: Added them to the 1st page. Let me know if something breaks (...or works better than before )

You can use a small screwdriver (or even a key) to lift the latch to release it, then it just pushes into the quadlock connector on the MMI.

Can anyone recommend a backup camera unit that works with the carlinkit unit? Preferably one that does not take up your license plate light.

The hardest bit will be reconnecting the quadlock connector in the back of the NBT unit when your done.
