I think the pinning is wrong.
On cars with CIC the pinning is: Yellow - FBAS+ -------------------> Pin 18 White - FBAS - ---------------------> Pin 28 Tranparent cable - shield--------> Pin 27 |

You can code the ecus in any sequence. And if you're not sure you also can code all ecus by vehicle Order. The program knows by itself which ecus have to be coded. |

BMW Dealer Says No to Camera
I've talked to a couple of BMW dealers in the Las Vegas area and they tell me that they can't install a backup camera in my 2013 BMW Active 3 Hybrid because the nav unit didn't have that option "activated" at the factory. Yet, I know there are a few backup cameras out there on the BMW forums that are suppose to work on this car. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Forgot to give an update on the resolution to my issue. All the wiring was correct, it's just that in addition to all the modules mentioned previously that need coding, if you have park assist you must also code the PMA module in order for the camera to work.

First of all, THANK YOU ALL
OK, so I want to be short , but first Thank you for all who help us to make this thing working.
I have an 2012/04 F30, with lots of retrofits, last one (until now ) is rear camera OEM, because I had rear camera retrofit already but it was an aftermarket. I had to do this retrofit because I retrofited an NBT EVO with ID5 and my old camera was black and white now, and very ugly image. So I've ordered on ebay an retrofit kit, and installed it. As many of you, the wiring was for F10, so I had to install the TRSVC module in the trunk. The rest of the installation was OK. First result, as my car was already coded with 3AG, camera started to work from the first try, but with REAR CAMERA ERROR in kombi, so I start Esys, injected CAFD intro TRSVC, coded it, started Rhenigold , calibrate camera, and all errors were gone and everything is working almost as it should. My only problem is that when I want to use rear camera without reverse, camera is not showing image. To be more specific , car in P, I press PDC button, PDC screen shows up with car image on center , I move knob to left and select rear camera, PDC sensors goes to left and camera image must appear into right of the screen , but instead of rear camera I get black screen. Does anyone knows what is wrong? So hopefully helping others who wants to do this retrofit, keep in mind this : if your car is older then 03.2013, you can connect CAN wires to controller CAN wires, I did so , and my TRSV could be coded and is working perfectly. If your car is newer than 03.2013 firs you have to look behind controller if CAN wires are Orange and Green or Yellow with Red and Yellow with Brown, if Yellow then you have to connect CAN to FEM. Beside my first problem, does anyone know some coding so I can use rear camera at all speeds? Thank you. Last edited by larry_bml; 10-03-2016 at 06:27 AM.. |

REM V_SCHWELLE_1 Werte=FF enable camera at any speed, max speed to disable top view camera REM V_SCHWELLE_2 Werte=FF enable camera at any speed, max speed to disable rear view camera REM D_SCHWELLE_1 Werte=FF enable camera at any speed, max distance in meters to disable top view camera REM D_SCHWELLE_2 Werte=FF enable camera at any speed, max distance in meters to disable rear view camera But i have to tell you, when you activate these codings the rear view camera will no longer turn off automatically. You always have to push the PDC button. |

Thank you for fast answer, I understand that I will have to push PDC button all the tine to disable rear camera, but if I disable only speed and not distance, that will not make the trick to activare rear camera for some distance at all speeds?

From reading the thread, I believe the control module is located above the drivers pedals, under the lower dash panel (near dead pedal). Post #110 from RSnic has a PDF attached which shows the location.

If anyone is wanting to do this retrofit, i have all the necessary parts available for sale in the classified section in this posting. So you won't have to scrounge around on Ebay part-by-part getting everything. Everything is new except the TRSVC camera module.
I started to retrofit my PDCs as a pre-requisite to the camera retrofit, but ran into some issues. I never did get it fully debugged, and now that my wife's new car has arrived, i'm starting to spend more time on it, and don't have a lot of time anymore for my car. Since i can't install the camera without the rear PDCs, i'm selling the unit (just sitting on shelf collecting dust ) I may have to do the Bimmertech solution, which is not as nice or fully integrated with the OEM solution, but it will be a lot quicker to complete, as i don't have to get the PDCs working as a requirement. |

I had the Bimmertech MMI rear view camera with SmartView installed a week ago and love it. The camera looks great and so do the dynamic parking lines. I don't have PDC on mine either but find that I don't really need it with the camera working so well. I hope it all works out for you.

Hi All.
I'm considering doing this retrofit in a E84 X1. But could somebody please tell me where the camera module is suppose to be located in a X1. I already have reverse PDC and a retrofitted CIC Head unit. Br. Kasper |

Hello,
I received my after market RVC emulator and camera. I did the cabling and VO coded 3ag (FEM_BODY, ICM, KOMBI, REM, HU_NBT). It did not work. Note that I have a 2012 F30 that is retrofitted NBT. I got can cables from the quadlock. I noticed that the emulators white cable that is supposed to feed 12v to camera is always measuring 12v on a multimeter. Any suggestions? |

Have you tried both possibilities to connect the video wires?
21+24 and 18+28? And then i see another problem. At the Original rear view camera retrofit with NBT the K_CAN_H has to connect with A173*8B Pin 52 and K_CAN_L to A173*8B Pin 51. |
