F30 LED Foglights Replacement Bulbs

I just bought a 2015 328i N26 & I am wanting to switch to the yellow foglight bulbs and having been looking around at different options. I have found the halogen replacements as well as some LED set-ups.

Has anyone tried the LED bulbs? After you add the resistors do they work well? Is the increased light output worth the trouble?

Any insights or recommendations would be much appreciated.

LEDs are vastly superior. My experience:

Once you see how much better they are you'll want to change them all.

That thread is full of a ton of info!! Did you end up getting the same manufacturer for highs, lows & fogs? For now I am just going to go with fogs, but probably switch the others this summer.

I got all from the same manufacturer, but not the same brand. That's because for nearly every company that makes LEDs, almost all of them Chinese, there are at least three companies that sell them, under different names. Where LEDs are concerned it's the Wild,Wild West, although Wild,Wild East would be more accurate.

I tried the h8 LEDs couple of weeks ago, but after coding to LED I had lost the fog cornering. I really liked that feature, so I switched to $30 Phillips 4300 h8 Halogens which are a close match in color to the Xenons... enough so you don’t notice the difference from behind the wheel and don’t feel embarrassed to have such sickly looking fogs when you see it from the front.

I think the Phillips 5k h11s might have been a closer match, and will try those when one of these eventually fails.
