Yes, was going to say 13.15Kg and 13.25Kg for Front /Rear M403's

M405 are 10.91Kg and 10.94Kg for the 20" version. Quite a nice weight saving there.

And 20 inch tyres will be lighter than 19 inch tyres of the same make too!

This what i am thinking. The 20" 405 would be lighter than the 19's giving better looks and better MPG. Hopefully with Adaptive on comfort setting they wouldn't be too back breaking?????

As long as you go with a non run flat tyre I think they would be fine.

I think the F30 is a fundamentally good riding car, just slight hobbled by a little harshness on sharp bumps due to the run flats.

I have until when my current run flats wear out to decide what to do.. Either stick with these wheels and go for 19 non run flats, or go for the 20s and non run flats.

But would also like to add some power, change the exhaust... Can't do everything unfortunately!

I'm starting to resent this forum in some ways making me spend money.

I'm thinking spoiler now.... Still considering new wheels but perhaps 20's when these tyres are done - the non-RFTs are that good...

What's next?

The AC Forged 19' wheels weigh in at about 8.3kg each so an even bigger weight saving. Kind of goes down about 10KG ish in total per upgrade. (very ish but you get my drift )

I also just found the price for the BMW 405's 20" and they are £680 per front and £705 per front which makes it competitive price and good value for money I think.
However, on asking the tech guy, although confessing he hadn't driven the 3 series with these wheels, if you use the standard Pirelli P Zero run flats the ride will be very likely rock hard. No flex in the tyre wall at all. Which is about what I found out when i researched them via different dealers on buying my 335d last year. Great looks, but please take them off! Add that to stiffer springs from AC which I have...one very hard ride.

What they would feel like with Non run flats I don't know....better but I'd imagine still very hard.

So, 20" unfortunately not likely for me....my back won't take that!
Shame, good value for money I think.

I'm thinking of these 624M , they are the lightest BMW OEM F3x, just over 10kg each.

I'm not sure the extra 12mm sidewall makes all that much difference, I drove 18" and 19" back to back, didn't notice any deterioration. NRF 20" will likely be softer than RF, but accept you don't want NRF.

If I had some wonga, I'd have a set of those and some MSS.

According to my research on line those 624m come in 20" but also 19"? which is weird. Most seem to say they are 20" but in the link below it clearly states 19". The cost is £3650 including new RF tyres. They look stunning and if that is the case it is the best compromise and 'bang for buck' option.

http://bit.ly/1rPLbjq

The ultimate of course would be the ACS wheels, but considerably more money.

I am just applying logic with the 20" ride comfort and having spoken to a few BMW dealers that drove 3 series with the 20" on. They all said look great but so hard a ride. Please take them off! Of course with RF tyres.

Not driven them so have no personal experience.

Yes, same place sells just the wheels in 19" too.

M624 in 19"

I'm sure you can get 4 tyres for less than £2,000

I think the 19 inch versions are meant for the 1 and 2 series cars. Not sure what the difference in offsets are between them though, so may be workable

Check the wheel load rating is sufficient for your car, not just the offset

If I can get the 19" then my current tyres should swap straight over :-)

I'd REALLY like the AC ones to be honest but not sure my bank account will stretch the extra 2K.

I'll try to ring up the BMW parts dept and ask if they will fit/supply those in 19".

Already have ACS Springs. Engine mod and Exhaust being fitted Tuesday next week at ACS via Lorcan. The wheels would be the last thing.
I'll keep you all updated.

Oh, and thank you all for your help and input. It really did help :-)

Spoke to local BMW service centre today. They cannot get the M624's in 19" for our 335d's. He can't comment wether the 19" versions would work fine on our cars.
So the ebay 19' ones on the earlier link are great value but may not have all the ratings etc for our cars. And I don't know the answer to that one!

The Racing quad set up. I prefer those over the Evo set. The way it is looking at the moment i may have to "suffer" with my 19's powder coated black

It looks pretty good anyway in Estoril blue, the black wheels and full black performance pack on. Grill, front and rear diffusers, side skirts and boot spoiler. Providing a blue black contrast through out.
I'd post a photo but it said I had to resize and at this time couldn't be bothered to spend the time looking into that!

I really like the 624's but trying to justify the cost to the other haalf when i have just bought a bike will be hard work. I think powder-coating the 403's will be the best idea for me too. What you think would look best on a MG Hearse. Im thinking of gunmetal or anthracite?
