Think it all goes down to the slot each dealer is allocated , if you dealer had sold more cars he would have less slots to book yours .
Mine was delayed a bit due to the individual option or it could of been earlier slot

Given the bad news people have reported in this thread I logged on to Genius today with a certain amount of trepidation after a week's gap but thankfully I'm still showing 1200 with week 40 build.

I've had a change of mind about my paint/upholstery colour combo and have asked my dealer to make changes to my order - which hopefully won't be a problem, given production of my car now doesn't start until wk beginning 6th Nov., according to a genius team member today!?

I tried to add a couple of extra options onto mine once I found out it was delayed. Salesman was fine with it. His manager stopped it because it was now a different sales quarter and said I'd have to accept the new price, which was of course more than what I was paying by about 3000 I think. Hopefully you won't run into such issues. I ordered mine back in May... It's been a long wait!

Thanks for this. My changes however don't make any difference to the cost as it involves changing one free exterior colour for another, and the same with the interior. So, I'm expecting that he'll sort out in the morning..

Short sighted of the dealer, not doing BMW any favours. They make a lot of profit in options, adding them would have improved the deal for them. Your original price "should" be irrelevant.

Yeah I thought so too. Not been terribly impressed with them since placing the order. They only informed me of the 8 week delay once I asked for the AG number to track the order myself. I'll be going elsewhere to get the mppsk and body kit parts I want.

Give the AG number to a BMW "Genius", you can start a live chat with them from the website. They'll give you a status code, build week and delivery week. You may have to ask your dealer for the AG number if you don't have it.

Changed paint and upholstery options with my dealer today and when I checked with a genius later in the day, my production date had moved forward one week - probably a coincidence but a pleasant surprise nonetheless

Had a chat with my dealer and they said it should be week 44, it’s going to be a long few next weeks.

Couldn't resist another go last night and I've moved from 1200 last Thursday to 5055 Confirmed by Production Control on Tuesday night so I'm feeling more confident. Fingers crossed.

Mine has now been delayed by a further two weeks. That takes the total delays past two months now! Not impressed at all. Anyone had any experience with compensation for delays in the past? Or are they likely to wash their hands of it and say there's nothing they can do?

I was due to collect the car next weekend been told after speaking to geninus it will be delivered to the dealership week 43.

I was told that genius’ don’t have access to vin numbers

Spoke to my supplying dealer yesterday and I’m at 5300 pre assembly start but it still says production wk39!

Just spoke to Genius now this is what they have said "It's coming up as the delivery date has changed, so I would advise you to get in touch with your supplying retailer who should be able to give you further details".

I'm fuming with my dealership going to rip them a new one tomorrow, I told them to keep me in the loop with any date changes as I have a detailer booked in for 3 days off work and also I need the car for work.
