MPPSK Installation Cost

This was discussed before but rather than search the forums for something that was true maybe awhile ago, how much are you paying for installation of the MPPSK? My dealer was quoting $500, wondering what kind of deals you are getting for dealer install.

Dealer quoted me $300. About 30 minutes for intake and 1 1/2 hours to program software. $500 is way too much.

Thanks! I'll check around and see what else I and get and wait for it to go on sale at getbmwparts.com and bmwpartspros.com. Also, my dealer takes forever to get anything done so if it can be done in a couple hours that would be awesome!

That is what I paid for my F30 installation & program from my dealer.

The original MPPK for the F30 335i/435i with N55 engine included a new engine cover, lower airbox for the intake and an authorization code for the flash tune install from a dealership. I installed my own intake and engine cover and the dealership charged me for 1 hour's labor to install the tune.

The MPPSK for the F30/32 340i/440i with B58 engine also includes an exhaust system, so that is probably where the $500 quote comes from due to the additional labor involved.

They were talking about the intake and also installing without the exhaust which would be the MPE on the 335 so I think they were getting it confused with the 335 version.

Too late for the OP but if you are considering the MPPSK & are ordering the car get it as part of the original order. On a purchase you can negotiate it in with your total discount. On a lease your out of pocket is less then half the price.

On both its a free port install.

Yes I brought my car which was an Exec Demo with 20 miles on it and got a good discount on that so it didn't have the MPPSK. I maybe could have purchased at the same time and got a discount but the MPPSK hadn't been released in the US market yet at that time.

That may be true, but the actual MPPSK (M-Performance Power and Sound Kit) includes the exhaust, which is made evident by the much higher cost for the MPPSK. Perhaps the dealership is not up to speed on what the MPPSK includes.

I ordered my car with a package that included the MPE and black kidney grilles, which was a port-installed $1300 option, and that included parts cost plus the labor for both installations. My MPPK cost me a little over $900 from getbmwparts and as I recall, I was charged roughly $100 for labor to flash the DME with the new tune.

Do the prices posted above include installation of exhaust as well (part of M Performance Power and Sound Kit)?

MPPSK would be the 340/440, MPPK is the 335/435 (power kit for 335, power and sound kit for 340)

I was quoted $487 for installation cost. The cost of the parts is $3366.03 this is inclusive of tax, so about $3853.91 all in parts + install + programming + tax. Think I should go for it? This is with a $350 discount on parts. They will have to order it from BMW which they say takes a couple of days and installation takes about 3 hours. getbmwparts.com will have a sale at some point, but don't want to deal with having it shipped to my home would just rather have it all done at the dealer and get a loaner car for a day. Current prices at getbmwparts.com and bmwpartspros.com are not significantly cheaper to make it worth the hassle, talking less than $100 cheaper (though might be cheaper with a sale or free shipping promo, but still not sure it's worth the hassle). I get 1.75% cash back on my credit card which equates to $67 so about $3700 net.

My dealer quoted me ~$3100 all in. Surprsingly good from what I expected. Their online site says something like $4100 for just the kit with no tips. But they matched the lowest I found online. Need to save a bit more then I’m going for it.

Wow that's surprisingly cheap and you're in Hawaii? Did you get CF tips or chrome? My quote was with CF tips.
