I hear you. I sold mine to pay for an engagement ring and bought a Maxima...

Oh and also a divorce 10 years later.

No good marriage ends in divorce. Congratulations on solving a 10 year old problem!

64yo, 3rd bmw. I tend to continue modifying my cars as I age. Could simply buy a higher performance car but for some reason its not the same.

I will be 70 in a few months and just bought my first BMW. An F32 435i. It’s a 2014 with only 37K on it. M Sport Pkg. bought it offline based on pics and reviews. Probably won’t get it delivered for another week or so. Have never driven one before but I grew up during the muscle car era and had a 64 GTO, 67 Stingray and a 71 Cuda 426 among many other hi performance vehicles over the years. My wife thinks I’m nuts but I told her I just wanted a little fun put back in my life before I kicked the bucket.

35, I have a 2016 328i xdrive - its my first bimmer - originally went to look at a 428i but it literally sold within an hour of me getting there, wasn't disappointed though since the 328i was very close to my perfect car & the 428i was in a royal blue which isn't my fav.

I haven't even made my first payment yet and I'm obsessed with the 340i msport - is it possible to trade a newly financed car for another one lol? I paid like 16k for mine, the m340i is 26k with less miles, same year, same mineral gray color, coral red seats, its literally a perfect build.

Prob not a good idea to start obsessing on something else, I'm perfectly happy with my car, if I have to buzz past someone I can, its perfectly comfortable, drives great, has good packages, pretty snappy in sport+, just gotta hope I don't run into a Maxima lol - besides the obvious, it has more HP than most every day drivers, even sportier ones, Civic SI is 180, GLI is 228, Audi A5 is just 248 compared to a 328i's 240, with the xdrive, it could potentially be closer.

I'm 10 years younger than you, addicted to modification since I got my F30, I thought I was too old for this, should have done it when I was 20-30, but this is the first car I put my heart on it, somehow I afraid it becomes problematic and I have no choice but to replace it, money down the drain! Would you have the same worries?

Cars are incinerators on wheels that you continually throw money into, so don't worry about it.

-----------

42 yrs old, this is my 2nd F30. 1st was a lease, this was also a lease but my lease is up and I just bought it so I figure I'll be in an F30 for another 4-5 years.

Yes, a similar age civic would be a bit cheaper. I seriously doubt your used Audi had any price/cost advantage over a comparable BMW.

To answer the original question, 26, bought my F30 when I was 24. I'm the third owner.
A used F30 would probably have been a better choice considering the maintenance on the Audi was not an easy pill to swallow. Agreed, used vs new was/is my argument. I didn't buy any new cars in my 20's.

31. Had a 2002 330i for nine years before my F30. Prior to that I have been driving a few other German cars including a 2000 528 and 1999 ML430
