Hi all
Picked up my new 440i GC in December. Nice Christmas present and quite a step up from my old 420d!! Started it up this morning and then jumped out to adjust my daughters seat, the exhaust sounds like there's a bag of nails in there!!! Dies off when it gets warm. Anyone else had this? |

Hi, I've definitely not noticed this on mine and usually start the car with the door open.

Just had a listen to the clip and it sounds like something is loose.
I will try and upload a clip of my cold start in the morning to compare.

Bought mine in April. Every now and then I get the same thing and it goes away once it gets warm.

Its the flap rattling. This is common as muck.
The M140/240i's ended up getting a new exhaust system to rectify it. My 340i had a new exhaust within its first 12 months and I needed a new rear section another 12 months later. my car.... A few others... |

I had a similar rattle on mine. Took to BMW and they confirmed valve on rear needed replacing, which would be a new back box. I negotiated and got good discount on the MPPSK instead.
But worth taking to BMW for a fix. Believe the valves are known of working lose. |
