Blimey, it appears to be a very specific target market.

Renewal from LV on my F48 20d xDrive with full no claims, no accidents etc was £800, up £250 from last year. BMW came in under £500!

Looking at the variations they do seem to have a specific client group. I guess thats why they are cheap for the people the deem low risk.

I too have gone with BMW this year. Current insurer renewal £409, BMW £305 with lower excess.

Aviva renewal qouted £1275 for both cars 330d m sport and 540i m sport , bmw qouted about £950 for both......interestingly if you say a car is modified they dont quote so called them as the 330d has m perfomance kit and exhaust and they said if its fitted by bmw then its fine and no need to declare.....strange but happy days!!!

In the past I have done quotes with them that have always come in way over what I've paid elsewhere (sometimes 50%).

Just done a quote and it's only £30 more than my current Aviva price - if that's still the case at renewal in April I'd probably go with it for the reassurance of having BMW repair work.
Just an update - have renewed with BMW as their quote was the best I could get compared with the comparison sites and also better than the Aviva renewal price (they seem to have gone mental!).

Thanks again Pequin . Thought I'd give your thread a quick resurrection in case people missed it the first time.

Thank you. I am currently trying to get group discount, I'll let you know if I'm successful

So, I now have a contact and BMW are looking in to a discount for members
