Kinda late to this thread but had a question. I noticed that the 2 colors for my ambient lighting are different brightness. The orange is brighter than the white in the door trim. I didn’t know if this was a problem or just difference in packages cuz I looked at my friends f30 and his white is much brighter than mine, but his car also has the lights above the airbag logo on the pillars and mine doesn’t (if it does they aren’t working lol) or it could be the interior colors maybe? I have red interior and his is the beige/tan interior.

MBH97 It depends on the production year. Mine is from 2015 and has the exact same issue you point out. It's actually not an issue, it's just that the white LED has less brightness than the orange LED, therefore is barely noticeable at night. My friends car is 2018, LCI, updated interior, with much more brighter LEDS for the ambient package. His white and orange LEDS are even noticeable during day. Only option is to change all the LEDS to more powerful ones.

Thanks for the reply! I figured as much that it probably wasn't a proper issue. Mine is a 2013 M sport and my buddy's is a 2015 non m sport so I figured maybe a difference in packages. I only noticed it with the doors too the white ambient light that illuminates over the gear shifter and cup holder area seems to be fine as well. Not a big deal I'll leave it alone, was just curious if that's how it is or if there was legitimately an issue with my lights

Me and my friends are both M sport. My car is early 2015, but late 2015 was when the LCI update happened. So in the same production year a lot of changes, including the ambient upgrade. Im currently starting my interior project, where im going to change all the orange LEDs to more powerful white ones, with blue accents. This means I literally need to take everything apart and solder new LEDs in. But im seriously annoyed by the outdated look it has, so for me it's worth it

I'll probably do this. I haven't dug to deep into it yet because there's some other stuff I'd like to sort first but just switching out the leds for the newer ones will probably be the route that I take. The orange is perfectly fine but I really like how the white accent lighting looks with the red interior so I'd like to get it brighter

Thanks for the video allerena! Im currently in the process of completely changing all the LEDS in my whole car Im eliminating orange all the way, its going to be white and blue. Im literally taking apart every circuit board and updating them with new much brighter LEDS. Thats what BMW also did with the LCI versions, brighter LEDS in there.
