Question Passenger and rear seat belt warnings

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi,

My 3.20i chimes if I do not buckle up as a driver, however it does not complain at all for the passenger and rear seatbelts.

EuroNCAP tests state that there are warnings for all seat belts. See below:

http://www.euroncap.com/results/bmw/3_series/476.aspx

Is this another configuration issue regarding European segment? Do you guys have visual and/or aural warnings for passenger side and rear seat belts?

No warnings or indicators here, although there is the ceiling mounted warning light about the passenger airbag.

mine chimes if the front passenger unbuckles while the car is still moving. The visual warnings for the rear are shown as a graphic in the drivers info display, green for fastened red for not.

I had my laptop on the passenger seat today, and it triggered an audible and displayed warning when I put my hand on it to keep it steady going round a curve.

Apparently BMW or its Turkish dealership company is saving on this as well. I wonder if this capability is absent in other European countries as well (Britain has it apparently).

Mine chimes if the passenger is un-belted (not had anyone in the back yet to be able to check). Interestingly though, the BMW UK website only says 'Seat belt security check for driver' under the Safety and Technology section in the specs.

Anyone notice how the seatbelt chime sounds like the first note of Carly Simon's "Nobody does it better"!? #justsayin
