Winter tires and wheels for 2014 335i
Hello
I recently purchased a 2014 335i xdrive with the Msport package. It has the 20" 405 style wheels and the Msport blue brakes. I plan to use this car in the winter, and currently it has summer tires on it. A quick search has told me that winter tires for the 20" wheels are a bit of an anomaly. Could anyone tell me what other sizes of wheels I could fit on the car? Also perhaps some recommendations of winter tires. I live in central Canada. Thanks in advance! I also found someone selling tires and wheels that are 225/45/18 95v XL that are Pirelli w240 Sottozero S2 and I'm wondering if those will fit maybe? I made a post on the sticky threads and got no response. Thanks |

I would at least drop down to 19in or even 18 if they fit. Tirerack should give you options online on what will fit. any name brand winter will work well. there really isnt much difference between them .

The W240 are old tech tyres but if you can get them for a decent price then they'd still be reasonable. If they're genuine 18" wheels from another F30 then they'll definitely fit as they clear all brakes, including the 370mm ones.

ALL F3X 18s fit over the M Sport Blue 370/345mm brakes
I'm running Style 397s, 18x8s all round with 235/45/18 Goodyear Vector Gen3 all-season tyres for 'winters' here in the UK. Zero issues with fitment over my 370/345mm brakes FYI I run 18x8 405Ms for my summer set up with 235/45/18 Goodyear Assym 6s

Fellow Canadian here & I'm running 18's on my 4 series with M Brakes for winter - they will clear but occasionally you might catch rocks between the wheel and caliper brace spring.
As for tires, the Pirelli's will do okay but IMO there are far better options out there - especially in 18's. I have had nothing but great experiences running Continental tires over the last few years - this year I'm trying out the IceContact XTRM, but the Viking 7's are a great choice too. On the cheaper side the General Altimax Arctic 12's served me well on my E46 a few years ago, and Bridgestone Blizzak WS90's are highly praised too. |
