Hi, i bough yesterday f30 2014 saloon, and today I saw that all four tires are different brand XD D

front ones are 225/40/19

xDrive or RWD (xDrives need to be OEM spec, RWD can be a size/2 sizes wider etc due to tolerances not needing to be as accurate, but still within 2.5% +/-) - See 'willtheyfit' website for a decent tyre calculator

You shoudn't be running different brand tyres on the same axle; a big no no

Personally I'd get all 4 new and sell the current ones on eBay, get some £££ back that way

What's your budget? Do you want all season, summers or winters currently etc?

I personally run Goodyear Assym6s for my summers and Goodyear Vector Gen3 all seasons for my 'winters'

Tyres are a very personal choice; just like oil, brakes etc

Worth having a look on tyrereviews.com and their Youtube channel too for some ideas

the sizes are normal for your car since it is RWD and staggered setup. However, the brand SHOULD NOT be different.

I would be very surpirised if the previous owner put different branded tires

Stick with OEM sizes and go for Goodyear Vector 4Season Gen3s or Micehlin CrossClimates IMO

Question is, do you want RFTs or non RFTs?

I run the Goodyears as already stated; very good indeed. Albeit I run 18x8s with 235/45/18 tyres all round (I binned the 19" 403Ms as soon as I got my F31 as my local roads are horrendous and the ride was horrible on 19" RFTs)

Camskill, Asda Tyres and MyTyres tend to offer best prices; they'll all be higher now due to time of year. AsdaTyres offers PayPal 'Pay in 3' if you're eligible, always comes in handy to spread the cost etc

Pic of my F31 on 18x8 397s all round with 235/45 Goodyear Vector G3 all season tyres:

Check out Tyre Reviews channel on YouTube. Really excellent reviews to help narrow down your priorities.

An excellent all season choice that is worth considering is the Continental DWS06+.

Is your car RWD or xDrive?

And re them tyres; they sound like budget shite, personally I'd stay away but each to their own

At a minimum I'd be looking at Vredestein/Nexen/Uniroyal/Falken etc

They're OEM BMW M Performance 370/345mm discs with the correct OEM pads

If your F30 has the Blue Brembo calipers then that's fine; if not, then you'll need to upgrade the whole lot unfortunately

If you are looking to replace all four tires, I would recommend going with a set of tires from a reputable brand, such as Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental, or Goodyear. These brands all make high-quality tires that are designed to provide excellent handling and performance.

RFT vs non-RFT and transfer case

Bottom line up front: Can using non-run-flat tires on an F31 that originally came with run-flats accelerate wear to the transfer case?

I bought a 2015 F31 in 2016 with 8K miles and Pirelli RFTs that I immediately hated for their rigid ride. Fast forward a year or two and I replaced them with non-RFT Toyo Celcius tires that have been great coming up on 40K miles. I need to replace them and am shopping again. My BMW repair shop (where I like and respect their work) shared the concern above, based upon a BMW white paper that supposedly detailed the difference in transfer case impact with hard accelerating (on RFT vs non). It all sounded academic and theoretical so I was interested in hearing feedback from the experts in this forum.

Curious.
