Have a got a set of blizzaks to put on my F31 but the tread depth is not even across all 4 tires. Bmw says 1% for F-R difference. Curious if anyone has real world experience with Tcase failure from excess tread wear.
225/45/18 2 tire measure 11.5/32 Other 2 measure 10/32. Tough to measure with a cheap depth gauge. Need to use a caliper for accuracy. |

I'm not sure 1.5/32 tread wear will make the rolling radius more than 1% out...and I'm sure it's the rolling radius/overall circumference that BMW insists is within 1% (on xDrives) - otherwise you'd have to change all 4 tyres every time one is worn more than the others.
The overall diameter of a nominal 225/45-18 tyre is 26.0" and this difference in wear (1.5/32) will only take it down to 25.9" which I believe is about a 0.4% difference. |
