And if you want to see how this tune performs under hard use, it coped with 20 minutes sessions no problem, performed flawlessly until I ran out of fuel.
Also the overlay isn’t accurate as the built in Garmin Virb GPS is pretty crap. Was actually hitting up to 225kmh according to my lap timer, which is about 10-15kmh higher than what I was hitting with the Mission Performance tune. |

Nice! I'm gonna be wrapping my hands around some alcantara goodness on Tuesday. Finally broke down and ordered the M Performance steering wheel.

Are you happy with those afr's ? I would try to richen it up a little, 11.8 - 12.0 is ethanol's sweet spot. Cheers, |

afr is lambda based and translated to afr, so it's not accurate in logs once you start blending with ethanol. assume the same afr for 91/93 is good, because lambda will be equal despite the fuel you're running.

I know ethanol is a very forgiving fuel but I was just giving an opinion. If that tune was to be fattened up to say .78 or even .8 lambda I would almost be certain that it would make more power and be safer aswell. Would be interested to see what the OP thinks. I am looking at purchasing a M140i and I will probably be doing the exact same mods. OP has spent his money in all the right places. |

I am comfortable with it and obviously BM3 is comfortable enough to release it for use on thousands of cars. The stock tune is around 14:1 to redline. In my past experience trying to custom tune a N55 it hated anything much richer than 13:1 |

hated why? because of weak hpfp. misfire because of fuel pressure drop. if you have ~1.2 bar at 6000+ rpm running 98 pump fuel 1:13 is not the best choice, should have 1:12.5 at least.

Maybe, going through my old logs and Cobb didn’t log fuel pressure and JB4 logs just had a number (generally 10-12) that has no scale.
This was back in 2014 with a Vargas stage 2 turbo on various ethanol mixtures. |

And as stated previously, the OEM tune runs 14AFR. I confirmed this on my dyno run a few weeks ago. So this is way better than stock, at least. The only thing i personally don't like is how long we stay above 14 after we're already in boost. Typically BM3 tunes don't drop below 14afr until after you're in boost for 1000rpm. But just personal preference, the main thing is running lower in the top end where most of the heat is generated. |
