We can work out a group buy discount for the remote tuning if its of interest.

With regards to the torque figures they are perfectly safe. We have tuned 100's of these cars and some cars have done well over 50k miles with the maps.

Cost of Simons map is more competitive but Evolve offers more of a performance enhancement (on paper). BUT if he offers a group buy with a nice discount I may sway the other way.

Either way, I don't think you could go wrong.
in response to my email, he said he uses a dyno nearby and they charge £60.

i think i'm out the group boys before and after dyno run is a deal breaker for me, and Simons map would still be £100 cheaper + slightly less faff with install, + had good feedback from other forum uses with emaps so think i'll go with them.
i don't need to revert back to stock for any reason so for me that's not a requirement.

the evolve map is remote, so they would be charging additional for a dyno run at their place, which is miles away from me anyway (their new place).

Simon quoted me 400bhp/550nm so i'm more than happy with those figures...i'd probably ask him to tone it down a touch if thats possible!

Alright, I'm in for a remote remap from Evolve if we can get a group discount.

However, I don't have the cables/software to do it myself...

I would be up for a group buy on the remote re-map from Evolve.

I’m assuming you can put back to stock and re-map as needed?

Why would you be "out" just because there's no dyno run? Maps the same. Or do you just have to have a printout for some strange reason?

If BM3 is available for your platform then it's highly recommended. The options & ease of use are simply great.
Considering what you actually get, it's a bit of a no-brainer.

Software they will send you. Cable you can buy from amazon or they can give you.

Can anyone recommend an Ethernet->OBD cable from Amazon?

There's many options and I'd like to get one I know will work.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Enet-Ethern...58130302&psc=1

This cable is fine. The only reason we suggest that you buy it yourselves is that amazon delivery is cheap especially when its free with Prime.

The group buy price with you having your own cable is £479.20 inc VAT which is a 20% discount.

I'm really sorry to do this, but I'm going to have to duck out

I know now I'm not keeping the car much longer, so it's not worth getting it remapped at this point.

Again, huge apologies for messing you around.

re: dyno runs - just because i'm interested, nothing more. Will be good to see what my car is outputting pre/post map, as a kind of added confirmation to the subjective feeling. And why not have a printout as proof! I certainly know my mates would ask to see it and to compare/contrast.

re: BM3 - could you recommend a 'starters guide' somewhere on here, a step by step thing so complete noobs like me could get up to speed with it all?
when i jump into the tuning section everyone is talking about BM3 using a second language i currently don't understand!

Mmm, not sure on a starters guide, but I'm sure there's something on ProTuningFreaks website.
I did a quick review of my BM3 installation here...

https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threa.../#post-2734135

But really, it's very simple to use. Their user interface is very well laid out with the options available. It's really a case of selecting what you want by either button or slider, then flashing your ECU.

Obviously the options available will be dependent upon your engine platform.

Chassis Dynamometers cannot tell you what you want to know anyway. They can only make a crude guess at flywheel horsepower. Their only real purpose is showing you the gains and relative curve of torque/hp.

I never suggested otherwise. What's important to me as I say is the comparative
