A friend of mine has x3 2.0d 2011 with business Nav. Is it possible to extract fsc from his car to update maps? I have enet cable and e-sys sw.

SO I followed the instructions in this post and success! but how do I get a code for the Europe 2015-1 Premium maps because they are not listed on the generator??

2015 maps for the CIC have not yet been released. When the maps are released, you need to alter the lookup.xml to add in the new entry.

Can I use this method to update F25 2011 Move maps to 2015-I Move?

My understanding is the MOVE is a variation of the CIC. If so you should generate an 1B file for the CIC. Worst case? It doesn't work and code is rejected.

ok I didnt realize there was a different set for each. I downloaded the maps from the e90 forum torrent link.

do you have a link for the 2014-2 Europe Premium maps? I can find the -1 but not the -2 doing the google searches.

For Europe Premium 2014 there isn't a -2 version. I suspect there won't be one, I'd expect the next version to 2015.

Then downloaded BMW_CIC_NBT_FSC_Generator from https://mega.co.nz/#F!ugo0HB5L!TPCmejMKPBlRRkz2SDvg0Q. Extracted it and then went to NBT_fsc subdirectory. Then issued the command
fsc FDZ17056_000DE001.fsc 0xA9 0x05 last_seven_digits_of_you_vin_here
and got the correct activation code. The correct parameters for map Europe Next 2014-2 are 0xA9 and 0x05.

I have 2011 328xi with maps from the same year that I am trying to update to 2015. I decided to go via e-sys route for step 1 and used the e-sys torrent link from locque's post here. I run into trouble during installation as the instructions call for copying EDIABAS folder to C: and there is no such folder in this torrent. Do you know of an e-sys torrent or link packaged with EDIABAS? Or do I have to have EDIABAS installed prior to e-sys? Thank you in advance!

How will you use E-Sys with an E90 when it is for F-Series cars only?

Good point, lol, I am a newbie at this, appreciate your patience. So looks like my other option is to try to connect to the car through the fsc generator, described in the youtube and posted in the beginning of this forum. I bought an ENET cable, do you know if it will work. Also, it looks like i will have to install inpa that comes with EDIABAS. Do you know of any reliable links? I dont need a latest version just something that will get me connected to the car. I have access to both 32 and 64 windows. Thank you!!!

You need just EDIABAS, which is part of BMW Standard Tools, as is INPA, NCS Expert, and WinKFP. Any EDIABAS should work for this.

ENET Cable is for Fxx car only. For Exx you need DCAN Cable. That said, SWID Reader with DCAN doesn't not work, which leaves only expensive ICOM Interface to read 1B file from CIC in Exx car.

Just in case someone else runs into the same issue, i finally figured out what was causing the problem:

I copied api32.dll to c:\windows\system because i was getting an api32.dll not found error when i ran SWID_reader.exe. As soon as i removed it from c:\windows\system, this error went away.

Then i went ahead and fixed the api32.dll not found error by adding c:\ediabas\bin to PATH in system variables.

I assume by "code" you mean Map and Upgrade Index:

2014-1 = 00280007
2015-2 = 0028000A.

Anyway, I'm not able to obtain a fsc code.
I'm using a diy find on e90post, the post was suppressed but I have a copy of the web page.
I had to edit a "data03" file found in "/mnt/hbdebug/” with an ENET cable.
I'm suppose to use this edited file (save as "a.hex") with the fsc.bat edited with the region code you gave me, to obtain a "code.txt" which is still empty.

I know I'm not in the E90 forum but if someone has an idea

I always get the message that the ignition is off in the SW ID reader. Is it because I'm connected to my E87 via OBD2 cable? I have not found any clear statements if an ENET cable is a prerequisite for this or if this is possible via OBD2 cable too.

I feel like I'm very close but just can't quite get there...

I have a 2013 F10 with NBT maps
I have the North America Next 2015-2 Maps
I have generated an FSC file from my car using an ENET cable
I converted it to base64
The file loads properly into the FSC Generator

Problem:
The FSC generator I have does not list 'North America Next 2015-2', only 2015-2.

I've tried updating the lookup.xml file and adding an entry for 2015-2 which does generate codes but none of them have been valid.

Can someone share the correct XML block for the Generator for 'North America Next 2015-2' ?

If I've left out any information that might be helpful please let me know...

Correct, you just increment the number and the NAVD_000014B8_255_002_XXX part, is normally the name of the folder the maps come in, so you really should check first, but everyone seems to use the same source so far not heard of any failures.

Anyway the xml above looks good to me.
