Picture link does not work but kind of expensive. Did you use KBB or check market listings?
Cant see your pictures but below is a CPO'd car (so 1yr beyond the factory warranty it still has), for 32k... Await to see photo link update to see what more your car has for 8k more https://cpo.bmwusa.com/certified/201...2482?zip=49444 |

Hi YoyoF30, thank you, just updated the link, please take a look at the pics and lmk
And yeah, I did look at KBB, Carfax, NADA, etc. My car has the Cilajet protection (small dings, dents, etc. can be fixed for free) for ~10 yrs. I paid $2495 for this protection. Above websites does not value this protection, but I am looking for someone who can purchase this along. That's why trying to find a private party. NADA values retail value for the same car at $39,175 There are not many similar 340i (18k miles and loaded options) in my location. So not enough data to get an average. The difference b/w mine and the one that you sent is (so far that I know) -cilajet protection -carfax value for mine is $2500 more (checked with VIN) -Not sure if that car has a lighting package ($830 value). Couldn't decode the VIN to compare all the options. - Location (I am located in San Jose, CA) and the car is located in Texas - Depends on the condition (You can drive my car and I am 100% you will like it) As I mentioned in my post, I am ready to negotiate the price. |

Im just gonna be honest, I even searched Santa Clara zip code. There multiple cars under 20k miles for roughly 28-32k (340i). Youre car is priced way too high if youre trying to sell it, if youre just feeling for the right buyer it MAY sell but I doubt it.

Hi, If you can send me a link to the list of those cars, It would be helpful for me to price my car competitively.
But Did you consider below things? - The cars that you are talking about, do they have M sport, technology packages, adaptive headlights? I can provide a breakdown of how much each of these packages can make a difference. - How many miles do they have? In the below link, there is a list of 2016 340i in my location (No accidents). There are cars in ~$30K but they have 22k - 27k miles on them and they do not have Msport, lighting, technology packages on them. https://www.kbb.com/cars-for-sale/ca...5&s=mileageasc To me, the only car that is similar to my car's specs is below one and we are in the same price range https://www.kbb.com/cars-for-sale/51...onresults=true I used the bimmer VIN decoder to compare the car's packages http://bimmer.work/ Thanks Amal. |

You probably want to check out cars.com. It's is an excellent resource to help you check your car against what's out there. A quick search for the options you're describing comes up with a hit that looks pretty close:
2016 BMW 340i 12,973 miles M Sport Adaptive Headlights Technology Package Lighting Package Driver Assist Package Driver Assist Plus Package Harman Kardon Surround Sound etc. It also has Cilajet (only 1 year warranty add $389.00 to the price below) It's listed at $32,900 If you want to keep the powder coated rims, you have to add $995.00, or you have have the stock rims at no price increase. Link is here. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...4510/overview/ |

Thanks dbright03
This car is pretty close to mine. I am still trying to find out the cars.com value of my car. However, carfax shows a difference of at least ~$2000. In cars.com, below car is valued as "Good deal" for $34,988 and it does not have any options that i have. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...5735/overview/ I came to this asking price by taking an average of all the private party values in the attached pic |

Cars.com does not allow private sellers to enter the options/packages that their cars have. The website does not ask while estimating the value. Just confirmed with their customer service.

"carfax price" can be adjusted by the owner when he puts in the conditions and can manipulate the value, its not accurate at all. Hence all the used cars you buy you see "3000 below value", yeah no one is out there in their right mind willing to discount 3k for a quick sale (as a car dealer). Just to prove those values mean little to nothing.

Okay. So how do you suggest to price a car?
If you are looking to buy a similar spec car, send me a list of cars out in the market. Please make sure that the location, mileage and others are exactly the same. I can match the price for you. |

Lol I find this kinda funny, your MAX value per KBB is 35,681$, yet you have it posted for 35,900.00, and even before that your had it at 39k. I find it hypocritical to have your car price beyond KBB max value, but saying my offer isnt based on resources. (Ps, you lowered the mileage on your KBB by 300 miles, which does make a difference so nice try there too)
Youve literally had multiple people say your car isnt worth that much, so if youre legit trying to sell it.... look at MARKET VALUE and not KBB. Just like no dealer would pay you KBB TRADEIN cost, the same way KBB RETAIL cost is usually not accurate for actual MARKET value. If I can find a CPO car for 32k, id be stupid to pay similar price on a NON-cpo. Hence my offer of 30k. Last edited by 340idude; 05-27-2019 at 08:30 PM.. |

YoyoF30 Man, not sure why you are being offensive. I see this as a discussion. Nobody has exact data here and we have to work out for a middle ground here. I am ready for that.
And My car is still under factory warranty. We can keep on arguing but that's not what I want. That blue car (WBA8B3C52GK383571 mentioned by dbright03) is a very good deal and I agree 200%. I got an appraisal for my car from CA beemers for 27K. So they might have purchased the blue car around the same price range and now selling it for ~33K. You can see their profit margin. You can go ahead with that one. WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT THE MARKET, WHY ARE YOU JUST PICKING ONE CAR? I can also pick a car that is in a price range profitable to me and try to justify my price. Why don't we look more volume of data? So, in the attached spreadsheet, there are listings from carfax, truecar, cargurus, AutoTrader, CarsDirect, Kbb (feel free to add more listings). These are similar to mine (few cars did not have technology & lighting package). I have included that very good deal blue car as well. I did not consider cars without the M sport package. Now, this is what should be called a market. I told you previously to come up with the listings that you are looking at and I am ready to work on that. But you just gave a single number 30K which is way too less from the average of listings that I have in the spreadsheet. Now, don't find faults in my spreadsheet. I AM SAYING IT AGAIN THAT I AM READY TO WORK ON this MARKET DATA (attached spreadsheet) TO ARRIVE AT A SENSIBLE ASKING PRICE. Last edited by aamalathithan; 05-29-2019 at 12:29 AM.. Reason: Removed the repetitions and added more listings in the spreadsheet |

Price Change
Reduced the price to match competitively with other listings on the market. See the attached market analysis chart that I put together. I have justified my price by explaining what options/packages other listings do not have even though they are little expensive than mine. The attached .zip file has the details about the other listings. Feel free to PM me with listings that you are looking at. Thanks
