Good news!! My video has been reinstated so you guys can actually stream it now and not download a 600mb file from Dropbox that keeps getting put on stop because so many people are downloading it!

Hope you find it useful again

Any help please?
I am having exactly the same response despite the fact that I add up the five digits of the VIN. Any body else experiencing the same issue?

Solution?!

Hi guys,

I did a little test today to try to unlock the hidden menu of my F30, and I succeeded!
Just for info, the last 6 digits of my VIN are: 551945
If follow the info of this post, I should succeed to unlock the menu on entering the number 29, but on my car it does not work!
That's why, I took a little bit time to test, and I managed to unlock my menu, on entering the number 24!
This means that we have to take the last 6 digits of the VIN, and summing the first 5, in my case!
For those who don't be able to unlock the menu, can you test to see if that works?
Thank you in advance...

No, it's the sum of the last 5 digits from the VIN, not the first 5.

Your technique worked for you only because your first and last numbers are 5. It won't work for others.

551945: Omit the left hand 5, and you get 5 + 1 + 9 + 4 + 5 = 24

02-System Test not working

Hi.

Everything worked fine adding the 5 last digits from the VIN to unlock the hidden menu. I can see all the numbers about temperatures, fuel, etc but the 02-System Test doesn't do anything on my 2013 F30 328i Sport. Any suggestion?

Thanks and congrats for the great post

Hi,

I have 2014 F30. Tried several times and can not get this to work -- perhaps, it was taken out during model year change over??

I have held down the reset button at end of turn signal stalk for 15020 seconds and get nothing; of course, I do this, when I am in neither average speed or average MPG

Am I missing something?

That's because the button at the end of the stalk isn't a reset button! It's the BC (base computer) button that cycles through the display values on the cluster.

We're talking about the trip odometer reset button in the instrument cluster.

Frogman,

Daa, that did it; works like a champ!

BTW, is item 18 Corrector Factor = (Reported/Actual)*1000 as you pointed out previously?

Any idea what the other items mean or do -- is there some explanation somewhere of theses?

Again, thank you and SomeRandomer123 -- yet another item to better understand the car!

Yes, it's (reported / actual) * 1000.

Most of the things in the cluster menu are diagnostic displays. You can get coolant temperature, etc.

I also believe this is how you reset the maintenance reminders (CBS). Search youtube for examples.

On my car there is one more option: "Start roller".
It can be accessed without unlocking.
It is not in this video but I saw it in others video on the net.
Does anybody know what can be done with this option?

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and I just purchased a 2014 320i Xdrive. I have ordered it from a different province since I couldn’t find one where I live. I’ve been trying to find on Youtube and on the forum where I can find the actual mileage of the vehicle. The car that I bought has 51 000km but I wanted to make sure it was the actual one and not a rollback. I had a free carfax report that did not say much in regards to KM. Thank you so much for your help, it is much appreciated. Sorry if this would be a question that was already asked on the forum... I just couldn’t find it

Recordings of my UK 328i doing stuff always seems to have gone down well (been on the homepage a few times! ) so I thought it about time for some more!

So I've taken a video of the "hidden" service menu on the Black Panel Display and its various menus/functions once unlocked, which is done by entering the sum of the last 5 digits of your VIN.

"To bring up this menu, press and hold the trip reset button between 10-12 seconds, with engine or ignition on. Ignore the engine oil reset opportunity and keep the button held until the menu appears.
Press the trip reset button to navigate.
Hold the trip reset button to enter and exit menus."

If you want any other videos, do please give me a shout! My car's spec is in the link on my signature if you're after a specific feature, but it's got most stuff aside HUD.
I'm going to try and get some more of High Beam Assistant doing some very cool stuff tonight, but I don't have a mount (and/or a GoPro!) so I can never take the most stable or professional looking video - but I'll try my best!

My YouTube name is the same as here, SomeRandomer123.

Enjoy!

Cool i will check it on my car. Thanks
