N55 starts then stalls
What's up fellas, I'm new to the f30 club...just picked up a 2012 335i (completely stock) a few days ago and am running into an issue with it not running lol. The car starts (sometimes struggles but eventually turns on every time) and runs smooth for a few seconds without me doing anything with the throttle..once the idle tries to drop/settle it goes crazy and runs very rough. She eventually turns off after struggling to stay on.
I would greatly appreciate any insight or help. I've recorded a video to further illustration the situation: Codes I'm getting are: P006c P0420 P0303 P0301 P0300 P0882 I buddy of mine is saying that it might be one of the fuel pumps which seems to make sense... I'm going to replace the coil packs and spark plugs within the next week to see if it does anything... |

I bought it from an auction, got it for a good deal, knowingly that it had an issue.. Just ddnt know what that issue was exactly. I don't regret purchasing the car, it's considered a project for me right now... figured I'd ask the group here and see if I can get any help.

Thanks! So more likely to the low pressure pump? It does have a longer crank duration sometimes which sounds like the high pressure pump according to other posts.

Bro these cars are complex. Without the right diagnostic tools you'll waste too much $ replacing parts that might not be bad. Just take it to an Indy for a diagnostic. You'll pay for 1hr of shop time for them to pinpoint the issue and then just replace the part yourself. Good luck brother.

Random thought, maybe previous user had a tune on it and after removing the tune didn't tightly connect all the wiring harness connections?

that's a BMW thing - they would have to run pressure diagnostics and determine that.

Update: ordered plugs and coils... Coils arrived early so I installed them just to see what happens. Car started and ran a little longer than usual about (8-10min)..but eventually shut down like before. Idle was really low and rough. I'll post a vid soon!

Getting it towed to BMW of Ontario, Ca right now. I'll give an update as soon as they can diagnose the issue(s) as this could possibly help anyone in the future with similar problems.

BMW called...HPFP and "possibly the maf". So they are going to replaced the pump first and see if we are good to go afterwards.
