Best Ultra High Performance All Season 2019 Edition

Hey guys,

When people ask "What is the best all season UHP tire?" most people say either Michelin A/S 3+ or Conti DWS06. However both of those tires are 3-4 years old now. I was trying to decide between the two and came across a couple new 2019 tires that challenge them both in different ways.

The new Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate and Vredestein Quatrac Pro both came out this year. The Goodyear looks to have the Michelin beat in several areas while the Vredestein seems to be a good alternative for slightly improved snow trraction and comfort.

For anyone in the market for new tires, I wanted to share this spreadsheet I created to compare them in case you find it useful. I used Tire Rack and Consumer Reports for the data.

Thanks. I'm also in the process of over-analyzing my next tires.

TireRack does not show the Goodyear Exhilarate for my 19" staggered setup. Thinking about General G-Max AS-05. Did you look at these?

I've had Michelin AS3+ before on a different F30, and while good handling and reasonably quiet, they wore out very fast. So interested in trying something different, for less $$$.

I live southern California, so summer tires all year round.

Yes, definitely have been over-analyzing myself ha. With so many variables it is so hard to find the perfect combination of trade offs.

That said, the General G Max seems like a great value. 85-95% of the performance of the Michelin for 70% of the cost. The metrics look pretty strong based on the Tirerack testing. I attached the CR comparison for ya as well.

I have heard the Michelins wear out fairly quick.. has me a little worried about paying the premium for them.

+1 to General G-Max AS-05

I just bought this tires for my friend F30( of course his money...lol), we been driving on it for 4 month now. It's pretty good, and we just got our first full day of rain...I know southern California... yup just one day 😬. Very cheap like my friend which is why I recomend it to him. But everything is there for daily driving spirited or not.
