Best tuner for stock 320xi
Looking for recommendations on a tuner for my 2016 320xi. The car is completely stock. I am brand new to the tuning world and am looking for something that's going to add a fun factor to my car without going overboard and pushing the engine too far.

I'm gonna start by asking.... is warranty over.
My vote on BM3 s1... I started with dinan sport tuner. I have to sell it at a loss. So just save up a little its Christmas time and get BM3. |

JB+ will provide great gains at minimum price. Its reliable, very easy to install and uninstall.

In that case, and since you mentioned you're not looking for big gains, I would grab the JB+. I run it on my stock 328, it really is the best bang for your buck at $200. A forum member here has a thread with JB+ dyno results if you look for it. Also, if you dont mind buying used, check the classifieds here. You can usually score one for about $120 or a JB4 for around $250.

I was at your same place a year ago getting my feet wet and looking for my first tune. JB4 and BootMod3 were more complex and were an expensive commitment. JB+ was attractive for simplicity and price. But I had read some negative things about the JB+. It basically connects to one engine sensor and tricks the car into adding more boost than stock. Guys were reporting that the engine ran roughly in some situations. The solution for me was the JB Stage1. It's their product between the entry JB+ and the complex JB4. The JB Stage1 has connections to two engine sensors. So it maintains simplicity and low cost while adding more control to keep the engine running smoothly. It works as advertised. I was happy with the performance, smooth running and ease of installing and removing. It didn't take more than 5-10 minutes to remove it completely to have it back to stock for service at my local dealer. My JB Stage1 is now for sale. I bought it new for over $400 since it also included the special cable to be able to plug in your laptop to adjust the boost level. It's condition is like brand new. I'm asking $249 including shipping. Please PM me if you are interested. Good luck with your car! |

I’m using a JB+ now and plan on going to bootmod3 probably. Gotta find the box for the JB+ so I can sell it.

MG Flasher only support B48 and B58 engine only, right? If OP is N20, his only choice for N20 ECU flash is BM3. I personally prefer ECU tuning than piggyback. The power delivery feel smoother.

Hi, when you had the JB+, did you dyno your car before and after? If not, how was the power+torque improvement? What setting did you have it in? I have a b48 320i, and this seems like a good start to adding power to my car on a budget. I have found 2nd hand JB+ for a relatively cheap price online Also, I know this has been asked and answered many times, but is JB+ reliable? Thanks |

I had the JB+ in for five months/8400 miles. It was okay. Jerky at times.
I ended up selling it and going bootmod3 stage 1 93 octane. Much much happier! I have the B46 engine. No mods. |
