Worrying though. Well respected insider who usually knows all the release dates etc states this article gets almost everything right...surely the G21 Touring doesn't usher in a Porsche rear light copy!

That is a massive outfit for a 'regular' model. Very very impressive indeed. Will push north of &50k base price no doubt. :

The tourer looks particulate good in those renders, so fingers crossed they put the hybrid drivetrain in it.

Interesting how the X Drive debate rages on still. I guess it's the BMW trademark RWD that drew us all to the brand...however only IMO power and torque have all moved on so greatly, that if BMW is to compete with headline figures that a form of X Drive MSport is needed. 385HP is pretty meaty and the early G82 I had was terrible at putting down 431HP.
it will be a never ending discussion. I suppose the best option would be options for all tastes, however testing and WLTP or whatever will mean less variants rather than more.

Remember these are LHD reviews I remember at some point BMW (I think) said the 340i could not have xdrive in RHD, space, heat or something.
However I would love a high bhp 340i xdrive Hearse as long as they fix that damn suspension. I like manual I like AWD I like Hearse I like petrol |

I'm sure we will find out soon enough but alot of sites still quoting 360bhp for m340 which is too low in this day and age.
Anyway touring looks good and just under 2 years should be a good time to nab an m340 touring, having been out for a bit and normal 20% discounts should have kicked in. |

Styling wise it doesn't look much different from the current model.
48V electrical system? Any bets on list for 340i and when we'll see any discounts? |

Higher voltage, means lower current. Lower current allows thinner wires. Thinner wires equals less weight. Less weight equals better fuel consumption and performance.
Lower current also puts less load on the electrical system, so probably gains to be had there too. Ian. |
