This is the big problem with them, they allow brainless or scum to own them.

People flying them within air space used by airlines, helicopters etc.

Then you have those flying them close to houses with 4K cameras...

One of the lads that work with had an altercation with a bloke last summer, his to daughters were out walking with him and their two dogs, this drone thing was following them, he spotted the bloke whose drone it was and told him to stop. The bloke went through this free world tirade etc, so my mate said fair enough he was calling police as he believed he was filiming young girls.

Someone will bring a helicopter or small plane down with one, just a matter of time.

It really needs tighter controls with no flying 1/2 mile from houses etc and a good distance from airfields / airports.

Two very different applications though, in terms of enjoyment you can't beat an FPV racer but when it comes to video quality (cinematic) you can't really compete with DJI

I've also got the air and it's a cracking unit but I've also got 2 5" racers that are a proper rush to fly but in terms of aerial video and photography it's a no brainer.

What are you running cos 2 mins is super quick I'm on 1500 mAh and getting 5-6 mins on what's quite a heavy bird (QAV-R)

Here are my latest builds... they are all around 260g's +/- except for the Diatone 200s which is 375g's but still flys nice... 2 minutes is typical in racing... I fly with 1500mah... these are the best batteries you can get believe it or not.... they actually just upgraded to 85c (damn just bought some at 70c)

My favorite motors are the knock-offs of RcInpower 2305-2700kv ... you can get 4 for $36... only weigh 28g's each with 1814g's of thrust each on Cyclone 5046 (3 blade)... best power to weight ratio I've found yet....

thanks for the links!

Some nice builds! We're limited in the UK as you either get stitched up on duty or limited to the distribution companies. i'm a big DYS fan as I've found their stuff reliable and fine for my application (just blasting around) I'd like to get into tiny whoops but the EU-LBT firmware no longer does D8 and CBA to reprogramme all my other receivers down to EU

Am so tempted by the Mavic Air, I nearly parted with the cash last week but bottled it. I'm just a bit worried that I'll fly it 3 times then it'll get chucked in the back of the cupboard never to see the light of day again :

I have this problem with CO2 guns.

I impulse purchase them like a mofo, then they only ever get used 3 or 4 times before they end up in the cupboard never to see daylight again.

I get that impression too.

Right filmed the house, car, me running up a hill.

Errmmmmm.

Racing then could be fun but not something that cost £500+ and shatters upon impact with anything but fresh air. The chaps building their own for a fraction of retail have got the right approach. Really cool tech on the modern kit. Nice!

I have a shortish attention span and still fascinated by mine. The Air is so small you can take it everywhere with you. There are so many things to learn with it, as well as flying it its sort of dragged me into more geeky aspects of filming and editing too. FML.

Keeps me busy. Till the next thing.

P.S. If you to get one get the 'fly more' kit. The extra batteries are essential especially when you are learning.

Hi, yes I was looking at the fly more kit with 3x batts, at least then I can fly for around 45 mins whilst getting to grips with it. The Air does seem to hit the sweet spot for me as far as tech/size/fun so it's just a case of whether I get one or not now :

If you are in the Manchester area anytime soon you can come and have a play if you like. Be nice for you to catch up with your old wheels and I can bend your ear about fitting a reversing camera!

Controller, spare blades Phantom 3 basically everything that comes when you buy it plus the new rear to the controller that has the HDMI connector.

Also has a cover for an iPad mini 2

It's in excellent condition and works perfectly

Just turned it on and the battery has been recharged 51 times at most it has 17 hours flying, that's based on the battery lasting about 20 mins

PM me your mobile number and I will WhatsApp you some pictures

I live South of Bristol

all my quads basically cost $225 each plus time me putting it all together.... plus goggles, radio, batteries etc...etc.... I have smashed some of these 100's of times 80-100mph flying around... they can take the abuse unbelievably... besides changing props the only other thing that gets destroyed is the antenna sometimes... that's only $5 when and if it does happen.... don't get me wrong... you fly 100mph into a concrete wall you might have a mess on your hands...

If you guys are a little shy of building one.... this one is an awesome one...

You'll still need a radio, goggles, etc.... I'd buy it if I didn't have so many now... lol.... but I do like the frame and might purchase the frame and just bring my electronics over from one of my other ones...
