I ended up putting a Turner strut tower bar on. It helped return the body rigitiy quite a bit. Maybe not noticeable for F30 but a F33 with the v brace removed it seems to help a lot.

I still plan on having a brace fabbed to fit, but this Michigan winter has that project on hold.

Sorry, nothing yet. I still plan on asking a fabrication shop to modify it, but I imagine that's going to be expensive AF.

IMO this would be a fantastic upgrade for F30 & F32 guys, shame more development isn't put into this.

Our fabrication projects are on hold at the moment unfortunately. After going over this with our engineers, it's not very feasible to offer a brace for just the F33's since there just aren't enough of them to justify the development costs.

Most customers end up removing the brace but we have a few confirmed installs that consist of the customer modifying the brace to suit the larger intercoolers.

Please note the 5" Performance HD bolts up without issue and will support up to 550whp without breaking a sweat.

Do you have any ideas on how to modify this brace?

Any link to this IC of yours?

Thanks in advance!

So is there any difficulty or modification required to install the 5" stepped intercooler on the F33?

Curious about this as well, has anyone intstalled any other brand of intercooler without any issues or interference from the braces?

I just bought a 5” MAD intercooler for my n55 f33. It’s hard to find much info on f33 fitment but going off this thread I think it might fit. I will update once installed.

I experienced the same with my F33. I have a preliminary design and have access to all sorts of fab equipment. My IC is an ER 6” so there is no way in hell that brace is going back in given the IC and brace occupies the same space. I will be documenting this entire process once started.

F33 is a bit unique and I wish more information specific to the F33 was available. When I bought my IC all the right questions were asked specific to fittment but the answers were not accurate. Perhaps it is up to us to correct these deficiencies in info, I also would love to see information specific to the uniqueness of F33s on this platform.

The ER is much taller than the stepped 5'' so fitment will likely be different

The ER is indeed taller but height was not at issue. Anything that protrudes in front of the radiator will be problematic on an F33 due to the brace in question here.

why not use the M2's front brace? It can still fit a normal stepped intercooler.

Could be a solution but I have never seen one. May need to research that one.

IIRC the lower mount to the torsion bars is immediately in front of the engine radiator, so that may not work either. I have a 3/8” thick plate fabbed up ready to go which should provide the lower mount, now I just need to get the front bumper cover off to fab the brace.

So how do I get that big black brace out from under the intercooler? Can't for some reason find help on this. Convertibles can sometimes be a pain in the arse!

You will be removing the front bumper cover. 😊

Got a link as on how to get the bumper cover out of the way? Once the cover is out of the way just the bolts to get it off? I've got a 5" IC. Not clear as to whether it will fit my F33 without other issues. If I need to take out the V brace, how do I do it? It looks like it's really not going to cause an issue with a daily driver from what I'm reading here. Not like I'm going on a track anytime soon. Thanks!

Sorry if my Q's are silly.

My concern would be that some engineer decided the brace was necessary for the car as a normal daily driver and now we are going to say we don't need it. I am not sure that is the wisest approach.
