BMW G20 Long Wheel Base (LWB) revealed in China:
https://www.motor1.com/news/344874/2...-3-series-lwb/ "Li" badging. Just as the F34 started in China, perhaps some version of this G20 will make it to EU/NA.

It's not a hatch, so it's just a stretch 3 series, and it states 'China only'. There are many of those, from just about any company serious about selling high end cars in China, where the owner usually rides in the back seat.

Yes but that is what the F34 is based on. Its the same chassis as a long wheel base F30. So if they make a long wheel base G20 maybe there is a GT option coming as well.

There will be no successor: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...rse-for-future
Quote from press release: "On the product side, from 2021 onwards, up to 50 per cent of today's drivetrain variants will be eliminated in the transition to more sophisticated and flexible vehicle architectures. This approach will also enable the BMW Group to focus on the products most in demand. At model level, no successor will be developed for the current generation of the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo. Moreover, the model portfolio is regularly assessed with a view to identifying additional potential to reduce complexity. Synergy and efficiency opportunities in indirect purchasing as well as in materials and production costs are also being leveraged."

Another rumor was that they would merge the 4GC with the 3GT. Maybe take a 4GC design and make it a little longer to get the legroom of the GT. Like what they did with the 6GT even though they are ending that car too.

The G20 Li is the Successor of the F35. The F34 is dead.

Mine is perfectly well alive ;-)
It's now just over 5 years old. At my own, intentionally slow, car future thinking, I wonder how long they will sell the F34. I could buy the next one in its last year of production, that may be in 2021. This way I'd have a fantastic car until about 2029 ish. By that time human mobility has either come to a standstill, gone electric all the way, Tesla gone bust (or still seeking to finally make a profit) or some other major development. |

The long wheel base G20 is named as G28 and is exclusively for Mainland China.
Yes, the F34 starts from the F35 and this time we will see if the 3GT will turn to a 4GT or 4GC. |
