That's also "just" some values changed in some tables..... Btw, I don't see it at as a problem. You can use a cable instead....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a generic gearbox remap, where I apply the map and need all the hardware to apply it......for £300. I realise there is a development cost for xHP, but I'm not massively convinced that's a bargain. Regardless, I was prepared to do it until I found they also want me to use a WiFi dongle that their best mate happens to market - for another 20% Yes, I could buy a cable (two cables - assuming my phone will work with the USBC - USB interface, which I'm by no means sure about) - I wont be though. |

Without test vehicles? Or without rolling road tests? Or? I have no idea myself but I expect there are some development hours behind the solutions they offer.... And if it's easy to do, why are they almost the only ones offering this?

Guys...... there seems to a bit of an over reaction about the cost of the Thor wifi adapter as you can buy a D-can cable for £9 (cheaper if used) and an OTG adapter for £1 on Ebay there is no need to buy the Thor.
If you bought a Samsung phone you probably got a little white OTG adapter with it anyway and others may have included the same. I have a D-can cable from my 535d M-Sport days and coupled with my Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung OTG adapter the Xhp app connects immediately to the car and reads TCU details and error codes without issue. That would suggest that it would flash it ok if I buy the code albeit the manual says it might be a little slower. BUT without relying on wifi it will probably be more reliable as no chance of the signal dropping. More importantly lets get together and push for the group buy. Its individually licensed but if the developer would agree a price for say 10 and accept deposits (10%?) until we get that number. If we don't those of us that are definitely "in" would just have to pay the full price anyway. If you genuinely want to get this flash make sure you register your interest for the group buy with Watsey straight away and help provide the volume to gain the developers interest. |

I have heard of others using other cables and wi-fi adaptors instead of the Thor. Most initially connected, but many were slow to transfer data and many froze part way through the flashing process and would not complete the flash. All I know is that the Thor is the only adapter guaranteed to work 1st and every time and be the fastest data transfer and most stable connection. Just saying.

just an update, and to add, if anyone buys the flash and lives near me in west yorkshire (5 mins from j31 m62, or 15 mins from j39 m1) you are more than welcome to use my thor adaptor.

A couple of questions for seenthelight! and APJ please.
How long did the flash take for you? Did you bother with a battery charger? The Kies Motorsports video suggests its quick enough (5 mins?) such that you wouldn't need to bother. TIA

PS, another friend had had the xhp map done, and he says it's like driving a remapped car, although it is running standard. It really is that good |

Been using it a week or two now. Did it using a cable. Took about 10 minutes. Didn't have a charger plugged in.
Comfort mode is better now and Sport/Sport+ is so much fun. |

My mistake, my son who installed it says the initial download took 10 minutes and the installation took a couple of minutes. I blame my age on the confusion!

You do have keep swapping from internet to adapter, as when you open the Xhp app, you have to be on the internet, once its quickly done its stuff and you see basically a big Connect sign, you then connect to the adapter, and then you can flash to your heart's content.
