Check the TIS - the torque values are usually there. Good luck!:

John, Thank for that link, it is truly invaluable.
I found one of the Torque specs but could not find the torque spec of the idle Pulley. This Page, I am not sure which one it is: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ement/Am2J4Uy8 If someone could clarify this please? Thanks in advance. |

Often it's a matter of knowing how BMW refers to the part. For that use this:

I wrote a DIY for the N54, with both Upper and lower Pulleys but for the F30 with N55 I cannot find the Idle Pulley torque spec anywhere. someone has to know what kind of E-Bolt it is? |

The idler pulley is also referred to a deflection pulley as shown in Realoem
Deflection pulley PN: 11288673720 and according to the TIS link it should be torqued to 60 Nm |

Like compared to 38 for the tensioner. I am just surprised and in doubt. |

That's what the TIS states (60nm or 44ftlbs) and what i torqued mine to when installed both a new tensioner and Idler pulley. No issues in more than a year since installed.

60nm for the Idle Pulley. Also the I had to reuse the Steel Tensioner E-Bolt. Called ECS Tuning and they stated that it is steel and can be reused. But a few issues I had disappeared upon replacing belt, tensioner and Idle Pulley. 1) I had a engine knock noise at low RPM as I accelerated in Moderate Mode. guess the tensioner was causing this. It was shaking at idle. seen a video on it. 2) My Old belt must have Shrank or something, cause it was a pain to take off, even with the tension fully released. 3) I had a Engine noise, from the belt revolution for the longest time, and it honestly sounded like it was internal to the engine but wow, now my car humms. Thank you every one. Bash Shah |

Great that appears to have solved several of your issues. It's one of those items that can be forgotten about until too late. With the long life of the new generation of belts, it is probably a good time to change the tensioner and Idler pulley when changing the belt. Do as a kit.
