Scratches!

So I have a small scratch on the passenger door and a couple chips on the hood. Anybody suggest a good source for touch up work? I was thinking of purchasing a DIY kit such as this:

Just this weekend I touched up a few small scratches on the fenders and some pits on the front of the hood. I used one of these airbrushes that I bought for just this job.

You need an air compressor, but even the smallest you can get will work, as all you need is 25 PSI with hardly any capacity. I went around the car, putting a piece of masking tape next to each scratch/pit, so I could find them after I cleaned them. I cleaned the area with lacquer thinner, then sprayed them. The advantage to an air brush is being able to spray a line as narrow as 1/16 inch, for minimum over spray. You can fill pits with almost no over spray. The result is much better than I've ever gotten with touch up pens or micro brushes. The paint dries so fast that you can do three or four coats in fifteen minutes if the scratch or pit is deep enough to need it. Give it a day to dry, then wet sand with 1200 grit followed by 3000 grit. When you wet sand you're removing the newly sprayed on paint around the scratch/pit, leaving the new paint only in the scratch/pit. After sanding rub the area with heavy cut rubbing compound, followed by light cut, followed by polish, all by hand. You should be able to sand and rub out a repair start to finish in fifteen minutes or less. Here's where I get my paint:

I want to add carbon fiber splitter/lip to finish the look but concerned about ground clearance. Have you had any damage or issues with yours? Would like any insights, pros/cons regarding your experience with your splitter. Thank you!
