I do not recommend doing so, you are putting too much stress on stock components. Get the recommended mods or use stage 1

I recently moved from CA to VA, was wondering if stg 1 91 vs stg 1 93 is even something I would notice? Thus far I have assumed it's not worth the bother, unless the maps have also been updated since August.
Please advise. Thanks! |

Yes you would definitely notice it the difference, it will have slightly more power and more consistent as well on the 93 map. It doesn't hurt to run the 91 map with 93 octane either all depends on the user needs

FSociety, I just saw on PTF facebook page that the latest B58-T0 OTS beta was in testing. Any idea when it will come out?

Hi, can someone take a look to my log and tell me what he thinks about it ? I'm almost noob at this.
http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5df8ff34c090c642d417ba5c It's a 91 stg 1 on a stock M140ix From what I see, there's throttle closure between 2900 and 3100 rpm. Is it normal behavior ? And at 5000 rpm there's a knock detection, followed by important timing change in cyl 1. Can someone explain this ? Something else to worry about ? Thanks ! For the record, I suspect a coolant leak, I added 1,5 liters 1000 miles ago, and I'm again at the min. |

The throttle helps control manifold boost pressure, the minor closure is nothing of concern. Boost, timing and AFR all look good. One random knock count is also nothing of concern. Enjoy the car. I think bleeding the B58 coolant system in the factory is not that great and there are a lot of people who have to add coolant over the first 20K - 30K kilometers. I was topping up regularly, but now the level seems constant. Is there any evidence of coolant leaking at the filler cap? They have been reported to have a poor seal in some cases.

About the coolant, no evidence of leaking in the filling cap area... However the cap is hard to remove and the first time I took it off to top up the level, there was a kind of white, dry residue in the thread. I cleaned it. The thing is, I never checked the level before the system warned me, around 20K Km, so I don't have stats about the level. But since I had to top it up again after 1600 Km only ... If the radiator is pinched somewhere, I should easily notice the leak, am I right ? |

The cap should not be hard to remove and threads should be clean. I'd ask the dealer for a new one.

I failed PA emissions, obd readyness = fail. Stage 1, stock downpipe. I wasn't expecting any problems today, really I didn't even think about it - nothing to worry about until stage 2 with downpipe I believed.
Is that expected for stage 1, and I always have to flash back to stock and drive around until they show 'ready' before emissions check? Is there a setting I missed in the tune to leave the readyness monitors alone? I have to plug in and see which one(s) are false. If not .. then stage 2 with downpipe is surely going to have me swapping the pipe twice a year. I thought with a catted downpipe and stage 2, no cel, nothing obvious, it will pass. Somehow I had never even heard of this obd readyness nonsense. I haven't cleared the codes or disconnected the battery for months, I don't think there's another issue. |
