Got a couple of questions if you don't mind.
Can you post some pictures of the unit? What's the sound quality like through the Aux port? do you have harman kardon sound?

Did the kit come with an external mic or is it designed to use OEM by default?

Is it an MMI device? I was unable to find the product in their store on Aliexpress!

Exactly, the external mic is only needed for Siri, you can still use the BMW mic for calls, I don't get why it is a big problem the external mic (this is a main concern in other posts), the install is pretty easy, it will be hidden and you don't need to use it for phone calls.

Andream on Aliexpress appears to be very similar to UniqueAD and Joyeauto but about $200 cheaper. It has a wifi antenna and a vent for the fan on the sides, where as Joyeauto appears to have vents on the top. Hard to say without comparing the two side by side. The wifi antennas do appear different. But overall looks promising, I may give it a shot for the price.

Just search Aliexpress for Carplay Andream F30

I messaged them and they told me it uses the OEM mic in Carplay mode for Siri and calls and does not include an external mic which is impressive. I asked about the software and they told me it shipped with the latest version but they're able to provide future firmware updates as needed.

Checks all the boxes for me. OEM mic, full screen 8.8" support, wireless, and supports updates.

This is the unit I got - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...66e24c4dDFqgFS

When I start my car my phone connects to bluetooth and wifi automatically but to start android auto there is a prompt on the screen so I just push down the iDrive controller and then it starts.

It does use the OEM mic and wired carplay and android auto is an option too but I always use wireless and my OnePlus fast charger I have in the car if I need a charge.

I tested my iPhone 6 which I only use for work too and that works ok too but I find Android Auto much more intuitive so it is always my personnel phone.

To use wireless android auto you must be on android 9 or 10 and enable it through developer options

could you please make a video of androidauto wireless? what about lag?

Do you have a touchscreen in your car? I don't and I'm a bit worried about using it only with idrive controller

Thank you, andream (wang) was very rude to my request of a video of everithing working... Definitely not a good start.

Thanks. Indeed impressive a new wireless Carplay MMI and uses OEM Mic.

BimmerTech updated theirs which uses the OEM Mic but man oh man costs an arm and leg for $600+

It seems Andream doesn't ship to Canada!

Carlinkit's solution appears to be identical - maybe they ship to Canada?

I thought Carlinkit would be based on Unique/Joyeauto design.

It looks like it is similar to BimmerTech/Andream style.

Thanks again!

Which installation guide or video did you follow?

Thanks again!
I compared the two between features and pictures of the box. The box for those that I compared were exactly the same. Carlinkit was slightly more expensive but probably worth it if you can't get it from Andream.
I was charged tax from purchasing Andream's which tacked on another ~$20. Which is a separate controversial issue, no way Aliexpress or Chinese vendors are providing tax profits to the state of California or US. It's speculated that they're now pocketing this extra money since they never charged tax before. I read that Canada is not getting charged tax from Aliexpress.

Same here, received mine yesterday and will put it in tomorrow.

I would love to have a look at the internals and PCB but it has a warranty seal that I don't want to break... :/

Have been following and, like many of us, have been anxiously waiting for a cost-effective iDrive alternative solution that supports Android screen mirroring.

Does anyone know if the Andream or other alternatives support Android "screen mirroring"? In another vehicle, I have a Pioneer HU that I "screen mirror" as opposed to using Android Auto.
