Missing flex pipe
Back in 2015 I bought the exhaust system from
CG precision R-1. Took it to my mechanic to get it installed. Very nice sounding system. But recently I had to do a safety inspection so I took the stock exhaust back to mechanic before I did the safety test. Then eventually put the R-1 back on. But recently my bmw dealer noted I am missing a 5 inch flex pipe. I know the stock exhaust had the flex pipe welded or 1 piece. I was wondering does anyone know if the R-1 exhaust even has a flex pipe? Or was during installation the R-1 is suppose to be connected to stock flex pipe? I’m not mechanically inclined so I’m not sure. Mechanic said it is bad for the motor. Edit: or was the R-1 designed without the need of a flex pipe? Any thoughts? |

My Remus catback has a flexpipe at the base of the dowpipe flange, surprised your system doesn't have it. You'll probably have to contact the manufacturer to get the answer why.

But I think the exhaust system was design this way because if it was missing a flex pipe, wouldn’t the exhaust system be to short to be mounted if it was missing the flex pipe?
