No problem, just answering your question to help break the Internet myths that spring up.

To answer your question on BM3 stage 1 or 2, isn't that the beauty of BM3? You can start on stage 1 and for little extra cost move to stage 2 if you want. It is a 'user in control' tuning system which allows that flexibility like no other.

I would say, go stage 1 and see what you think.

Note that the majority of experiences you will ever hear or read about online are those that are negative. Those that have positive reviews will be out enjoying their cars instead.

I have a friend who has just BM3 flashed his B58. He previously had a JB+ and now reports “plenty of sideways action”. Apparently, he’s in love.

My friends are running it and really happy but not on this forum. One is an m240i and the other has a 440i. Hoping they get dragy to get some numbers soon! I should just get a 240i to hold me over until my Supra is here

I've had a great experience with it. It's a very user friendly process, it takes all of 5 minutes from start to finish, and the car is a lot more fun now.

I just need to get the exhaust valve thing figured out in Comfort mode and everything will be perfect. But that's hardly even a complaint in my mind

Good to see good experiences! I've had it since it was released and all the bad reviews made me question it but I'll flash it later today and tell you guys about my experience.

Installed last night, took all of 10min for me to figure everything out (NOOB). Vehicle was pulling VERY strong in 1st and 2nd (WOT), but 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear were having throttle closure after 3,500RPM, at least that's what I think was happening.... continued to drive for another 15min, no more WOT runs, and then parked the car over night.

Drove to work this morning and everything was as smooth as can be with no throttle closure (or whatever was happening, I wasn't logging)! Car has adapted and is driving amazing! Didn't even realize I was still in Comfort mode almost the whole way in, the added power is fantastic!

Running Stage 1 w/93. I told myself I wouldn't need Stage 2 and now I find myself looking at downpipes...

BootMod3 for the WIN!!

Bootmod3 for B58 is awesome... period. You can configure each map before you flash. Within a minute you can flash an update. E.g., changing from stage 1 93 oct v1.4 to v1.5. You can clear codes, look at live engine stats and reset adaptations.

I've literally never used this software before Wednesday and I haven't had a single issue with it. It's super intuitive, nice to look at and works flawlessly.

For those people having issues with the exhaust valve flap, it hasn't happened to me at all. I don't mess with active exhaust at all, I think it brings up a warning message that enabling can mess with valve flap control. Also make sure you modify the configuration of the map and save it before you flash it. I'm not sure if people are trying to mess with the config after they flash and think that saving it will update the file that is on the car.

Also the only surging I noticed with the car is after I reset adaptations. I've swapped back to stock and updated from v1.4 to v1.5 and didn't notice any surging after the flashes. But driving for 10-15 minutes and then restarting the car seems to save adaptations and cause the car to rebaseline in a way. You do this a few times and the car smooths out and pulls like a freight train all the way to 7000.

It was super easy, literally 10 minutes after checkout I was starting the car. The ots map is a small piece of what you pay for. The richness and ease of the platform is what I am into.

Early adopter .. there's going to be a few minor issues at first .. no big deal.

Laptop is charged I'm going to go mess with it. Maybe I'll get lucky and the car will just adapt.

Is there any difference between OEM and OTS stage 1 burbles?

Thinking of doing stage 1 on 93. Does the free ots map allow to mod exhaust burbles? I have stock dp and exhaust but want a little more burbles.

I decided to wait for couple months, early adoption seems risky. Issues with comfort mode exhaust flap, 3rd 4rd gear pull issues etc.... these need to be addressed by proTUNING Freaks .

Not familiar with any 93 or 95 in Los Angeles though.

Not trying to bash but yeah, mixed reviews so far. Protuning Freaks ghosting peeps on the forum while other tuning shops are more active on here. They need to address issues or reassure they are on it

I was ready to pull the trigger myself until I learned about the inability to close the exhaust flaps in comfort mode for those with MPPSK. For me this is a dealbreaker, and won't purchase until this has been satisfactorily resolved.

As much as I enjoy the sound of the exhaust in Sport mode with open valves, the gf doesn't and I'm certain a lot of people in my work parking lot don't either.

Does MP flash tune experience the same issues with the MPPSK (inability to close flaps in comfort mode)?

I flashed Stage1 91 octane tune earlier today. The car pulls stronger, especially after 3kish. The cold start delete is FANTASTIC. I'm getting what feels like throttle closures on WOT on the highway. This was both on my way to and back from the gym. I'm hoping the car adapts shortly like everyone has experienced.

My burbles went away, but I can add them back to stock levels.
But my biggest complaint: no more rev-matching when double clutching (ie from neutral). No biggie, I can just go gear-to-gear (luckily 2+ gear drops still rev match), or remember to blip when I don't.

I'm on MG Flasher stage two and my MPPSK valve is closed in comfort and open in sport and sport plus. You can also change the setting to keep the flap open all the time if you so choose.

I wonder if it’s a select few of people who have configured something different with burbles / flap management. The MPPSK uses the same wiring harness as the stock flaps it just leverages a y-splitter

I’ve been running stage 1 91 without any modification to burbles or the flaps and haven’t had any issues with the flaps not closing in comfort and eco pro

I hadn't changed anything the first time I flashed the car and the valves opened the second I touched the throttle in Comfort. After that I turned the cold start function off and reflashed but I haven't adjusted the burbles or anything else and the flaps still open in Comfort.

I need to log the car doing it and send it off to PTF I just haven't had time yet this weekend. I'm going to try and get to it tomorrow. If anyone else that's having the same problem could send a log off to PTF though that'd be awesome. Or if you already have and have heard something from them, feel free to post it here....I'm curious.
