Play in the front diff/transfer case?
So I’m thinking that my front diff is on its way out.
I have play in the front drive shaft going to the transfer case and when I turn left with full lock I have a grinding/clunk coming from the drivetrain. Sometimes I can feel a clunk when power stops being applied. I serviced the transmission and both diffs at 55k replacing fluids and the pan on the transmission. The fluid from the front diff was black, the rear diff was almost clear and the transmission fluid was dark but not black. I’m stage 2, catless and have a cone filter. I don’t rag on the car but I’m thinking that the extra power has worn out the diff a little early. Has anyone had similar issues? Here are a couple of videos Driveshaft play https://youtu.be/fN239URUX7A Full left lock noise https://youtube.com/shorts/cHcqa0RS8AY?feature=share |

Diff fluids need to be pretty exact to spec due to corrosive properties of some fluids over others. |
