Doesn't matter in what order you update OS and MCU. Factory config file you mentioned won't change anything for you as it's for Android 10 3.0.5.

Updated this morning to Ksw-P-Userdebug_OS_v3.8.5 and MCU dGS-NBT-GTH-210126.
Everything seems to be OK but when reverse, rear cam has NO SIGNAL message and not possible to see it for parking. Can this issue been solved in factory settings? Is this any kind of version bug? Should I install another version of APP or MCU? Thanks! |

It's technically still there, just not accessible. Check the Android 10 thread and there is a guide how to pair other Bluetooth devices on the first page - it might work with your unit as well.

Did read this possible solution: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1699764&page=66 It didn't work on my device. I don't have this options in my device menus... 🤔 |

Android HU switches back to OEM menu at startup
Hello,
has anyone experienced the following. When I start my car, Android will start with boot logo and animation (made by RedErik ) but half way in the boot animation it will switch to OEM menu and then sometimes will switch back to Android and sometimes not. I then have to hold the menu-button to switch back, which will cause the app started at startup to go to the background and the android (idrive ibus) menu will show. Does anyone know what the trigger can be that causes the head unit to switch from android to oem menu ( and sometimes back)? |

Yes I did :
If you want it to always boot to Android, go to Settings > Factory Settings > PIN (usually 1314) > Function > Remember the last mode > To Android Homepage. It is set the correct way. And it does start Android and the boot logo and animation, so that's not the problem. Halfway through the boot animation it will switch forth and back to the OEM menu and android menu. It has done this for a while even before the new animation, so the animation is not the problem. |

Ok Thanks.
I will try some other things first. As a last resort I can factory reset or upgrade to Android 10. Are there some major advantages for upgrading to Android 10 (or disadvantages). I read somewhere that Android 10 is slower on head units like mine ( 8 core SnapDragon 625 ) |

I solved my (own created) problem.
I am still connecting to the OEM head unit through Bluetooth, so I disabled Bluetooth on my phone and now it would not go to the OEM menu during the boot animation. Only thing I had then was that it would go to the OEM menu after everything was started up (when the iDrive ibus menu would show). This was triggerd by Auto Link app (for CarPlay) which I configured to autostart at startup (I don't even think this has a function because Auto Link will start as the Phone connects wirelessly) so I took it out of the autostart list and now everything is working fine again. Funny thing now I have Bluetooth on again and it connects to the OEM head unit again. But now it's not a problem any more |
