Anyone replace their interior handles with aftermarket?

My F36 interior (Carbon Silver) handles are worn out. BMW OEM is expensive (over $200CAD for a single handle pull for cheap plastic). I was looking at these but not sure about fitment and if pattern would match what's on the dash. Anyone else replace their handles with aftermarket?

i feel like i've had success on the bay for interior trims. I think a complete set depending on the trim and wear & tear can be between $200 - $400 for all the pieces.

The OEM carbon silver ones are NOT cheap plastic, the carbon silver is an actual skin (~2 mm thick) made out of Aluminum. The black plastic is behind it and is not visible. This explains why they are costly. Don't know about the piano black or walnut ones.

The wood OEM handles are real wood, veneer that was vacuum applied to the plastic base. The same is true of all the wood trim.

Come to think about it, in my E39, the door handles and dash board trims have wood veneer applied to the aluminum base.

I had the rubber part deteriorate on both front doors. Used a snap-in carbon fiber look trim for $20.

For the entire handle, I would look on Aliexpress, Amazon, or EBay unless you want to OEM BMW gold-layered and diamond-studded ones for $1000. Better wear your white gloves with them....

I had noticed the same thing on my old one too- a nice touch but too bad the expansion and contraction of the metal piece would always crack the lacquer or whatever the finish was over all the wood, still think the use of trim in the e39 is one of my favorites, it aged well.

On the flip side, though the f30s don’t seem to crack as much, the aluminum seems to separate from the plastic backing after a while, my main one on the dash is doing that and I need to epoxy it down. Still, the real veneers take the trim to a whole different level than the fake painted or plastic stuff in cheaper cars, not even a close comparison

I went for the carbon & alcantara M-Performance trim set...but the carbon door handles come with dash trim pieces too, which made it £600.

Got a good price on the whole lot from a local dealer for £1000:
  • M-Performance Trim Set - 51952250264
  • M-Performance Handbrake Cover/Gaiter - 34402222541
  • M-Performance Gear Surround - 51162343743
  • M-Performance Gear Knob - 61312250697
  • M-Performance Arm Rest - 51162405918

mmm-five Love the look of dry Carbon, but not fond of Alcantara personally.

I'm thinking about getting this (custom made to order), but the bright aluminum finish of the narrow strips to be replaced with piano black finish:

The interior and exterior of the handles are two separate pieces. The interior rubber coated handle is plastic welded and screwed to the door card. This interior handle replacement is more work as it requires you to remove the door card. For these Kies Motorsports has some nice sets.

For exterior handles which I think OP is asking about is easy trim tool removal on the door handles. I've had both the wood and aluminum on my car and with careful removal and installation there won't be any cracks in the materials.

Honestly, a full set is widely available on eBay or in the interior member classifieds on this site.

Could also use 3M S120 satin aluminum wrap which is a 98-100% match

That would look cool and something different than the usual carbon. It would look good with the bottom silver trim painted black or with the black chrome that the F8x uses. There are places that can do colored carbon with whatever pattern also.
