16-18 Hella LED headlight conversion part question
What's up guys, I have a question that has probably already been addressed. I am considering buying a new set of Hella brand LED headlights for my F31. They come new, but don't come with any parts. (ballasts, modules, etc....) Can anyone provide me with a link, or a list of everything needed to install them in my '15 pre-lci f31? I am concerned about the cost of the needed parts as right now, I'm running the pre-lci DEPO's on my halogen equipped wagon. I don't know much about them other than I know there is a lot of coding involved. Thanks in advance!

I’d look around for a complete unit from a wrecked car on eBay or similar, one with smashed lenses or a cracked housing, I’ve seen ones for less than $100, and then you could swap over all the modules at once. I did something similar on another car I had and ended up selling parts I didn’t need and actually made money off the headlight I used for my swap

Don’t take this the wrong way, but if you are incapable of looking at realoem and coming up with a list of headlight chassis and related ecu/parts for a f31 lci, then doing the same for your own vehicle, comparing the 2 lists to see what if anything is compatible, then you are really not anywhere close to qualified to do this modification.
That’s the easy stuff that you are incapable of. And you haven’t even gotten to the complicated parts like the wiring changes and modifications, not to mention the different connectors and harness. And then there is the coding. All this for OEM LED headlights that aren’t much better than the halogens you already have installed. Just buy some led bulbs to replace the current halogens and call it a day. |
