Remember that this is a render. It's a realistic approximation, but the actual version will undoubtedly look more polished, with all the proper proportioning, angles, and 3-dimension-ness.

If you're a fan of the F10 5-series, I'm confident that the F30 front end will be attractive as well, as they will share a somewhat similar look.

I agree. Hoping that it will be much easier on the eyes than the F20.

+1 think the basic design is there, but the front end looks squashed and the rear end looks disproportionately too bulky.

IMO the design is lightly derived from the outgoing E90LCI with a blend of F11 5 series.

I can just picture an M sport bumper on it and if it's looks like what I am imagining, it'll be handsome beast.

Looks so much nicer than an E90 320i, much, much more "premium".

Hmmm...I don't know, looks like a guy the size of a sumo wrestler has sat on the hood and squashed the front-end as a result. Maybe it was this fat dude getting out of the back of the F30 that sat on it:

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=331386

Haha.

But on a serious note, the F20 looks marginally better (then my first impression) with certain angles and color, although it still looks out-of-proportions under most angles. And as someone said here, this is only a F30 render, the real thing should have better proportions. BMW aren't going to screw around with half-ass designs on their top seller, would they?

a little bland but it doesnt look bad, at least they arent playing their wild cards as we know they arent good at doing so(as new 1 series and 5gt proves). I hope this render will be accurate enough as latest renders of upcoming bimmers have proven better than the actual car.
kinda like it, finally a bimmer that have that touch of executive class that previous bimmer lost. I hate the design of the 5 series but I wouldnt hate it so much if it was applied to the 3 series as the 5 series should be a more mature car not just a bigger 3 series as the current one. the e39 altough having some similarities with the 3 series was a more mature car, more elegant how should I put it? it looked more the kind of car you should expect to see on a mansion but the 3 series is the kind of car you can expect to see on a night club or a company u know, like stylish and executive but not so uptight.
edit: good render by the way congrats to the designer

I'm sure it'll look good. If you watch the video of the red f30 especially when stopped at the light there is a good view point from its profile and the short overhangs and overall slope of windshield and front lines trailing to the rear look really good.

So maybe chalk this up to a poor angle to make a judgement on the car. But it is a very nice render, good job!
x2, way better than the current 3 series. altough a little bland I still rather it to be a bland car than what bmw thinks is a "bold" car. still theres the m division and those guys never let us down.well, maybe on the new m5

It closely resembles what we currently see on the test mule but I hope that the front fascia thicker in height. The render is way too thin and makes the car look off.

I sure hope so.

It would be so nice it they got rid of that cut line that follows the top edges of the lights into the bumper.

If it's like the the 5; then it has good chances of being nice. That new 5 is very sexy

Either the render job isn't good or the F30 is really that bad.

I'm glad I didn't wait for it and got E90..

this one is close to a Dodge Charger. I am fine with the new F30 as long as it still looks aggressive

I was sincerely hoping to get an F30. As in..I held off buying a new E92 this year. Now, I'll end up having to wait until 2014 for the F32 and hope to all that is holy they figured out a better formula than "F10 + E90 - style - aggressiveness = F30"

Bad math BMW.

Yep yep, I feel like the wave peaked in the late 90's and then started to break and crumble... used to love driving my folk's 328iS coupe and riding in my rich buddy's 740iL they were truly proper sport/luxo/executive rides.

The 3, 5 and 7 series from those particular model years were THE BEST! Those cars still look so amazing. I saw a 7 series today it was either a 99 or a 2000 model year - made me happy. So simple and yet so striking. BMW just went downhill from there with almost all the designs. First, by trying to be too radical and now by being clueless or plain stupid or both.

New 1 series
3 series render:
New X3: better than the previous, but still not as good in looks as the competition

Take a closer look at they spy shots from the front end in the thread where the 458 catches the camo F30.

The hood is raised at least an inch more than these renders show, this makes the front end look WAY under aggressive.
