Probably a large element of factoring in assumptions on exchange rate movements come Brexit. BMW and dealers playing it safe.

You might be right but they won't be selling one to me at those prices!

It will be an interesting balancing act for BMW and their dealers over the coming months but if they try to play it too safe I'd have thought they run the risk of killing sales almost completely. Still, I suppose it might mean some good deals towards the end of Q1 if they suddenly need to chase a bit of volume to cover all those overheads!

I second this and a cayman 718 gts could not overtake me on a blast on the M69 he got quite angry lol. Yes the 4cyl is not as smooth as the 6cyl but it should not be ridiculed

328i - top speed 155mph, 0-62mph 6.1 secs

I've obviously no idea what you paid for your 328i but I'm guessing a £43k G20 must be at least 30% more which doesn't feel like especially good value in comparison!

As a slight aside, I was looking at TRL's latest offer for the M140i yesterday and as chance would have it I also still have the equivalent figures from around this time last year (or possibly Q4 2017). The monthly cost for a 5-door Shadow Edition without extras (based on 4 years and 8k miles/annum) has moved from £318 to £374 (so roughly an increase of 18%). I bought the 328i as an BMW AUC in September 2012 with 2,700 miles
You must remember that the market was different in 2012.
Nobody wanted petrol, everybody wanted diesel.
The car had been at the BMW dealer for months and had not sold.
I’ve just ordered a new 330i sport with 11% discount which is not bad considering it’s a new model that hasn’t been launched yet.
I believe some internet dealers may now be offering a higher discount.

On a track yes but please remember this was a public motorway so we would not have been flat out at all times.

your words "could not overtake me" and "got quite angry" suggest that he was trying hard but wasnt able to.... if we are saying he could only go 70 and so could you then yes, maybe he wasnt able to....

although the spirited run up the hill and then the beans as it becomes 3 lanes is always fun and I suspect on that bit he would have been able to....

On the road, it is next to impossible to overtake someone in a reasonable quick car,if they don't want you to without a massive speed differential.

That's a great discount for a cash buy then! Did you know you could do PCP to get the higher discount, and then pay the finance off a few days later?

Yes,
When I took the 11% it was the best discount available.

I think I have read that at the present time the MSport has to be ordered
with the Technology pack.
Coast 2 Coast offer is about 9% discount if not less.
Drive the Deal and TRL not discounting new 3 last time I checked.

Discounts are available through internet brokers.
The prices TRL quotes are after his dealer discount and any contributions available from BMW and/or BMWFS. On a 5-door M140i they equate in total to £8,755 (or a discount of 23.5%); not sure if any internet brokers are able to beat that but if they are I suspect it won't be by very much as TRL is usually pretty competitive!

However, my point was more that going back 12 or 18 months the same car could be had for quite a bit less (and hence to me the current deals don't appear great for a model that's now close to the end of its life).

Broker4cars appear to have about 25% off the G20:

http://www.broker4cars.co.uk/Buy/New...+4dr+Step+Auto

I have no idea if this is real, but I noticed it about a week ago and the level of the offer still seems to be the same.
